Just come across this on NUFC.com

Regular away travellers will no doubt remember the Fernhurst pub in Blackburn, always packed like sardines and your tongue touching the floor before you get a drink. Looks like it's going to be harder than ever to get a drink now.

We're reliably informed that the Fernhurst pub that hosts away supporters in the vicinity of Ewood Park will be closed for refurbishment when Newcastle visit Blackburn on Wednesday February 1st.

However, the car park of the pub will remain open as a meeting point / outdoor drinking area for anyone who wishes to sup their ale under the stars on a midweek February evening in Lancashire...

Hope it at least stay's dry.

To be fair it needed a refurb. Was there three years ago coming up and I remember it was so rammed they eventually opened the upstairs up for more fans to stampede in. There were so many people jumping around upstairs the lights were shaking and a piece of plaster fell from a crack in the ceiling into my pint while at the bar!

    ****ing mental!

That pub is absolutely mental. I bet they love it when they get a home draw in the cup (like they did in the League cup against us). I generally go inside to stay nice n warm, play on the itbox (I think I'm addicted) as I find that the little knobhead kids are outside smashing cans off people n stuff. Embarrassing sometimes.

Mounted police there the time before last time I visited, don't bother now. Found a WMC to go to.

Yeah there's always dickhead kids working themselves at Blackburn or Wigan etc. And yes, they are embarrassing.

Blackburn away would never be the same without the pub, last time we went the pub was fantastic the football was dreadful, oh and we lost 3-0.
