Would Reina be allowed to do the dirty on us?? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...er-United-or-Arsenal-move-for-Pepe-Reina.html
I always held Pepe in high regards as he seemed so loyal to the club and fans....hope it's just rumours. If not, we should be aiming to get Given or David de Gea.
I will believe it when I hear it from LFC. As Thanks to Shanks says, Reina seems loyal and loves the club and fans.
Can't see Reina leaving. Like everybody else has said so far, he does seem loyal to club and the fans. We are re-buliding the club and buying quality players. Let's all hope that he sees that and stays and helps us push foward in the future and get us back challenging for titles.
Reina won't go.He's too loyal. He said he would leave Liverpool well into his 30s to join the club his dad played for, Athletico Madrid.
I only hope everyone is right on this one. Although I have a sneaking suspicion he will follows in the ways of Le Sulk and try and engineer a move away in the summer. If, as it says, that he has a ã20M release clause in his contract I could see us receiving an offer to match that. I wont be holding my breath as I don't think the players have the same level of loyalty to the supporters as say 10 or even 20 years ago. Money talks these days.
Reina is an awesome keeper, no doubt - but I believe a lot of his greatness comes down to our goalkeeping coaches. I seem to remember reading somewhere we have 2 goalkeeping coaches, but no Striker coaches. I think there are a multitude of very good keepers out there, and if the defenders do their jobs properly then the goalkeeper shouldn't have too much to do. If Reina was to leave, we would not be short of very good options to pick from.
Very true. Wouldn't be bothered tbh, as long as he doesn't go to the scum and we get a big fat wedge for him. If a player doesn't want to play for the shirt then they can go and eff off somewhere else. On another note - We have no Striker coaches??? I'm sure Rushie would have a go at that given half a chance.
I read a report that the ã20 million buyout applies to every club except one.....Manchester United. There is a clause that says they must pay ã40 million. If he wants to go and I say if.Why not offer him to them, and demand they pay ã40 million. That kills two birds with the one stone,it frees up other players that they can't sign as all their transfer kitty is gone for the next two years and we make a sizeable profit and can sign a younger replacement like De Gea for ã25 million less.
I know. But as I said earlier in this thread "If a player doesn't want to play for the shirt then they can go and eff off somewhere else"
This is a done deal for United and I assure it is for a lot less than ã20 million. We would of paid that in January but he agreed to stay till the end of the season and the reduced transfer fee will be reflected in that. I reckon we will pay around ã8,000,000 for him which is good business for both clubs as Liverpoo are skint. It also gives Pepe the chance to win European Champions And premiership trophies. Liverpoo couldn`t even win the premiership reserve league with their first XI. MUFC champions league winners wembley 2011
You have a point there, instead of having 5 1/2 years left on his contract in January, he'll only have 5 years left on his contract at the end of the season. I can defo see that taking ã12, AT LEAST, off the valuation....... In saying that, wouldn't be surprised to see him leave since we're not very good at the moment
I gotta say as a Chelsea fan I love Pepe. I think he is the top man and should attract at least a 20m bid but the market is strange. Spanish and Italian clubs won't bid that sort of money for a keeper these days although I don't understand why. Can't see him going to Utd but City are being very quiet and maybe Liverpool fans wouldn't mind so much if he joined them. Joe Hart is still young and showing a few signs of not being perfect so I think City would jump at the chance. I would swap him for Cech.
The difference for me is that Torres had never won a trophy with us and he was itching to get his hands on silverware. Reina though has won the FA Cup and I think he appreciates that value of winning trophies at Liverpool and I think he knows what it means to a passionate fan base and the red half of the city.
Another really bright Manc replying to posts on the Liverpool board about Liverpool players. See what you did with the Liverpoo thing - shows a high level of intelligence on your part. Now f*ck off back under the stone you crawled from kn*bhead.
I heard it'll be a swap deal with Utd. They get Pepe, we get Anderson. Kenny reckons Anderson couldn't be any worse in goal. Sadly, it seems the truth is somewhat different: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/i-ll-be-part-of-bright-future http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...feqYld&usg=AFQjCNGVYreJav7E8uPjkbhLT5tcLPemvw
Liverpoool accepting 8 million from Man United for Reina, when its written into his contract when it comes to them the fee is 40 million.Nah I don't think so.Another Salford that has escaped from special school. He's not too keen on eating glue, licking windows and finger painting because at 46 he should be doing a lot more, like learning to read.
