I saw it on the website. The best news I have ever heard. Let's hope he is out of his injury days. UP THE TIGERS!

Sounds like the snag of the Harper deal wasn't resolved then or that Arsenal suddenly made Vito available. Great signing on our part, it's great to have Vito back. Having a good keeper behind the sticks who communicates and distrubutes well will improve more than just the defensive side of our game.

If he plays as well as he did in his last loan to us, we should put in a cheeky offer in summer. He clearly likes it at Hull, I seem to recall him saying so in an interview, and Arsenal don't seem keen - its a no-brainer!

Now we just need a sub keeper so that Basso can be allowed to have a complete break to sort out his problem.

I'd be happy with Cracknell warming the bench, it's not ideal but you'll struggle to sign a keeper to sit on the bench and loaning one would be silly as it takes up a loan spot in your side which could be used for a player that has a chance of being involved.

However, given the trend set in recent weeks i think it's more likely we'd go with 5 outfield subs if Basso wasn't 'fit for the bench' which in itself is a strange concept

he did play well, but missed more games than he played. very happy with him as a keeper but the injuries are a worry.

Perhaps a rethink of my previous comment. Although they're denying it for now we must be considering Mannone for a permanent. It shouldn't be too hard to persuade a second keeper also to sign with a view to a permanent. You tell them they're competing for the number one spot and the permanent transfer. In the summer, when we'll need to sign up at least one keeper (two if Basso decides his problem isn't worth sorting or can't be sorted and retires from playing) it gives us two options for players who already know the squad and what the area is like so it enables consistency.

My info would suggest we are looking to bring another keeper in still this month.

I know we are keen on a permanent keeper, who would be a fantastic signing, but how likely that is to happening in Jan or at all, I really don't know, they are keeping it very close to their chest (so no, I will not posting a name).

And don't suggest Harper on loan again, that isn't going to happen.

Great in theory but i'd personally prefer the extra loan spot in our matchday squad to be used up by an outfield player rather than a sub keeper despite it adding healthier competition, if we tell Mannone that if he plays well enough we will attempt to sign him in the summer that should be incentive enough. Though if we have a spare loan spot and aren't interested in any other outfield players i'd be happy with it under your terms that they're competing with each other.

I'd much prefer us signing a keeper on a permanent which PT has indicated is possible anyway, though i'd be content to wait until the summer for this. One thing I expect in the summer is that we sort this keeper situation once and for all, it's getting annoying having so many changes in a position that's usually the most consistent in the team.

Ideally I'd make the permanent, but it depends what our options are.

We could have two loan keepers, and if we decide we want to name four outfield loanees in the XVI name Basso as an emergency sub. If the keeper who starts gets injured/suspended Basso plays out that game (not keen on it) but the next week the other loanee takes over in goal? Be just our luck for the starter to get sent off in the first 5 minutes and Basso be injured after 10, but I guess if we don't sign another keeper that could happen any week anyway.

Again, great in theory and hard to disagree with, though easy to question likelihood. Guess time will tell (oh god Frenchie has got us all saying it!)

I like the headline, it makes it sound like Arsenal are a foreign club.

Taken from the Hull City official facebook page,

Just to show that the players do sometimes come on here to read what you say, this is taken from an interview we did with Mr Mannone this afternoon....

"I would like to say thanks to the fans. What I have read on the internet has been nice and I have taken great encouragement from that. I want to repay the fans in the next few months and see what we can achieve.”

I never really suspected that the players would even know about forums like this one (not officially attached to anything like BBC or to the club like CI) if they do read not606 i'd like to be the first to say...
