You almost beat City and United at home.... You beat us because of the impact of Gerrard really. Demba was very close to adding a 2nd, and Gerrard killed us off. Without him it would have been a draw I reckon
I don't think bow4fowler meant any offence, just that Man Utd in going for the title should be winning especially after the Rovers debacle. I personally was thinking a 1-1 draw was likely as Newcastle under Pardew have been difficult to beat. Oh how I was wrong please log in to view this image
And I was thinking with our ingrained mentality that if City won then so would we, dead certs. What a load of bollocks that turned out to be! I love the way that Fergie turned top that guaranteed matchwinner Anderson whilst taking off that known carthorse Rooney. Genius.
I actually thought we had Demba's number. The defence were good that day. You're right by thw way. We should have beaten them both at home. Fair play last night. Didn't see it, but apparently well-deserved
Fergie has a habit of stubbornly attempting to prove himself right on occasion. Anderson is just one such example and they way he's dealt with the Rooney affair is another. I'll be clear on this, players get paid way too much and so should do as they are told for their money, I've no argument with discipline at all. But, Rooney and the others went out four nights before the next match and in dropping him I firmly believe this has cost us six points. If he'd gone out the night before a game I back him 100% but under our current injury hit circumstances I think he went well OTT. We should be 3 points clear and instead we're three adrift.
i think ferguson did right and if rooney is now sulking that's his problem... i mean by all means eat like a horse then have a dump but only one glass of wine is required... it sounds like the 3 lads turned up drunk to me... any training ground witness reports as to their states? the Blackburn game was an issue of injuries and no back 4... Newcastle was a case of back to the issues around the midfield i think, just form what i saw. when a sides got nani, Rooney etc in the side they should be dangerous no matter what but Newcastle at home is a hard trip... for me like i said this morning.... there are lots of sides like swansea, newcastle, stoke and say norwich that the sides don't like travelling to. The newkie side that played us didn't look anywhere near the side that played utd did they? credit to newcastle but on the road is where the league is decided.
SAF was criticised for appearing to reward Rooney in 2010 but now when he drops the lad and stands up to him, he's done the wrong thing. I think dropping him for 1 game even it cost us was right and besides, the blame lies with Rooney not the boss.
Happy New Year to you Tunns. Oh..................................................... ................................FAIL
Not necessarily. They have found a new particle (not the Higgs), so this should keep us going. Some Christmas holiday those twats at CERN get. It's Oldham, so I'm sure we'll be OK - DON'T WATCH IT
Not sure if it will be on. FSC shows FA cup games but with it being on Friday not sure, it is either a defo being showed or not. I know they are showing the United x city game which should be good fun. I hear that Comolli is en route to get Luuk de Jong? Hope this is true and that we don't go for bent ffs!
Not really, do you think if Fergie had picked a sensible side instead of Rafael and Ji Sung ****ing Park in centre midfield we wouldn't have beaten Blackburn? We then continue our momentum into the Newcastle game, to say we would have won is a bit of an assumption but I'd wager we'd have done a far better job than last night.
