Note the date of the incident! This is a non-story.

Saw this in the Chronicle, but didn't really make much of it because:

"A police spokesman said: “At 2.18am on Thursday, September 13, police received a report of a fight at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead."

It is in the Chronicle online too. Methinks a bit of mischief making by black and white journalists!

Surely if no charges were made then no law was broken and this is a none event?

There is a witchhunt out for Bendtner imo and some people wont be happy until he has been driven form the club. I rate the lad but agree he needs to up his game but this constant downing of him wont help. We may not have the funds available this window to replace the lad and he may well be our main striker for much of the rest of this campaign but how effective is he going to be if we get on his back?

This incident may well be a case of some **** stained mag having a pop at a Sunderland player in the Hilton Hotel where Bendtner was currently living and the even more **** stained B&W press stirring their usual ****e. Funny how they have sat on the story until we have started to improve our fortunes isnt it?

We dont have any facts other than the police saw nothing in it which is a fact in itself of course.

I think the lad is clearly talented and just needs to make sure he starts being greedy. Im pretty sure MON can get the best out of him and tell him to do his work in the opposition box.

I think the "again" title is very misleading - he was arrested in September - so his second arrest was for the car kicking incident!! Aren't the press a bunch of ****ers!!

Does seem very strange why it has just hit the press now. Wasn't having a go at Bendtner, just simply reporting the "latest" news. What is it with our players being in bother in Newcastle, even if he wasn't charged he's managed to get himself arrested. That's now Bramble, Bent, Leadbitter, Cattermole and Bendtner who have had at least one bit of bother over the water in the space of 5 to 6 years.

Anybody who's a public figure will get this sort of thing at times. I mean, Gazza was in a club enjoying himself one night and found two lads pushing his sister about. He smacked one, and suddenly it's all over the press that Gazza's in bother. The two that caused it were hardly mentioned.

Maybe someone's had a go at Bendy and he's popped him. It can't have been much of an incident if no arrests were made. Handbags maybe?

True Marcus but then so is Bendtner. "If you ask me if I am one of the best strikers in the world, I say yes." Talk about misplaced confidence!!

Still quite how this is now newsworthy some 4 or 5 months later is remarkable though. Nothing surprises you with our gutter press though, the local papers are becoming as bad as the nationals now. Did they not do something similar with Bramble recently, dregded up some old arrest as if it was current when they were trying to see him lynched for the drugs/assault? They did similar with Nile Ranger (who to be fair is also a complete knacker). They printed some story about him around the time he was in trouble for another offence, yet this supposed 2nd offence had taken place 2 months earlier. Surely its about time they should be regulated properly to ensure stories are of public interest, accurate, timely and not just designed to denigrate someones character.
