Cheers OLM. It was that or a flagship school down Beverly Rd that came to mind.

That would indeed be a suitable endeavour.

Ashamed to say I've lived in Hull or Beverley for 36 years and don't know where Melton is! I trust the Allems, they have hauled Hull City up out of the mire.

On the A63, to the west of North Ferriby and south of Welton.

Though if you don't know where Ferriby and Welton are, that's unlikely to help you much.

As we'll never move there, it's somewhat academic anyway.

I think a giant ball made from ceramic and a ****ing great water feature top of Spring Bank would look the bollocks.Hopefully all the dole bums and dross from that building on the corner of Ferensway and Spring Bank ( Melbourne House ??)will congregate near it and the water feature will stop working.

Anyone driving past would think they were in Monaco or Milan.

Now that would be money well spent.

I can't see it happening, probably just forcing their hand as has already been suggested. To move out of a stadium that we all like and is in relative terms brand new would be crazy.

I've got a rough idea now, I know where Ferriby is. Was reading the comments in the mail myself, always good for a chuckle, some proper TWF's always posting gobbledygook there!

This is pretty much spot on from my understanding as well. Its all to do with its capital expenditure budget, the council has a number of portfolios and this can also be dependent on its grant funding. As was mentioned, selling the stadium couldn't save the redundancies, it would help its capital receipts but the redundancies are savings, in that its a reduction of the spending budgets earmarked for whatever purposes.

I wouldn't like to move away from the KC and hope all of this is to get the Council to hurry up the deal, extend the east stand and we'll have a 32,000+ seater, that should sell out or get 28,000+ every week... and while we're at it put some better (working) TVs in the concourses.

I hope we dont move, it takes me 8 minutes from leaving my house to sitting in my seat in E3. If we move to Melton I,ll need a flask, packin up and some stout boots....plus we,ll be given the nickname "The Melton Maulers" by opposing fans

Would this not be a good opportunity for the Hull CC... if they were any good at business they could tun around this situation to their advantage as well.
At the moment they own an asset with no real income.... more of a liability. They ave economic & political pressures to reduce their costs and central government may already be challenging their current financial loss t the stadium.

Why not sell to Allams for £??m, and use this money to reinvest as a partner in the sports village.... then take a percentage of profits (whilst losing liabilities). They will also be helping Hulls residents with extended facilities and further growth / regeneration in the city.

Strugglng to see why Hull Council see this as a problem rather than an opportunity?

Errrr. Is the 3rd of March the new April the 1st? Seems so. I can see this getting very nasty...City Council (bunch of herberts) won't budge neither will the Allams, hence a stalemate for 2/3 years. Then when the plans for the new stadium are revealed the Council will come running to the owners and offer the KC to them at a silly knockdown price. If my experience of politicians in Hull is anything to go by this will happen. The good news: bye-bye Hull FC.

I believe the Allams are giving £6.75 so the Boulevard can have a full refit as well.

The last time the Boulevard had a refit was when they bought that new bog seat.

It occurs me that Mr Allam has a problem. In that no matter whether the KC is extended or a new build out west he needs planning approval. Both of which would be granted, or at least strongly influenced by the council The people he is currently pixxxng off.
Doesn't seem a great strategy to me. But hey he's made millions and I nowt so what do I know.
    Prefer the KC option myself.

The stadium loses money every year while the councils just had it's budget slashed instead, of mass lay-offs, selling the KC would be a much better way to cover the short fall.
