How much of the Connolly goal is shown? I can't view vids at work :emoticon-0120-doh: I think that DC's goal was so brilliant because of the build-up but if they only show the pass to DC and the actual goal, I think I might vote for something else.

vote for what you saw, not what they show.

For me the Connolly goal v Boro epitomised exactly what we are about and how wee were playing then!

All round goal one has to go for Connolly v Middlesbrough, however the build up to Lallana's against Leeds is also pretty good. Until you watch this you don't realise how much we have struggled recently to stretch teams? Perhaps the players are a little jaded.

I think its more a case of teams have worked us out. They know to work hard and close us down, stopping our more creative players from having the time to pick out passes etc. We don't seem to be moving the ball about as quickly as we were either. What came first the chicken or the egg, did we loose form which has led to teams more easily closing us down, or has teams working out how to play us led to a drop in form. I suspect its the later.

This is really difficult for me. I have a mate at Uni who was from Manc and a huge United fan. I was watching the game with him in his flat with a few of his Manc friend and that Chaplow goal had me jumping round the room for at least 5 minutes! But alas I think it has to be the Connolly goal against Boro'. An absolutely incredible goal that should get goal of the season from the football league but probably wont even be mentioned in the top 10. Top play

Same (who doesn't have a manc mate #gloryhunters). I was in the SU in Plymouth watching the game, there were about triple the amount of Saints fans as mancs! They managed to neatly separate into different rooms....the Saints room was louder :smiley-finger007:

The thing is with Connolly's goal Boro were a beaten side and they put sod all effort in to closing down - I don't think the goal was particularly outstanding - it was a good goal but nothing more.

Blimey, you're a hard man to please. That's a bit like saying that Wayne Rooney's overhead kick wasn't that good as he was unmarked in the box, or Maradona in 86 wasn't that good as England didn't make a tackle.

It was 25 passes by a team playing fantastic football having run the opposition into the ground. It was awesome football.

I just think that Guly's goal against Blackpool was a lot better, as was De Ridder's against Reading. And you can't compare Connolly's goal to Rooney's or Maradona's

What about Hammond's against Leeds and Peterborough? Love both of those goals!
