Having watched Spurs all season I'd think they're unrelated. I hope it's not true about the fan. If it is condolences to his family, I'm assuming the news was being kept quiet as the family weren't/aren't yet informed.
Tough game, but we won and deservedly so. So are we now in the title race, I await Sky's and MOTD's verdict. Condolences and respect to the fan who sadly died.
anyone have news on Parker? we need him back seriously, i'm hoping in January for a new forward and we throw away Pav. I seriously hope the Beckham rumours aren't true as i'd happily let him train but play, no way for me, i'm just imagining Asprilla at Newcastle. so a big no no is someone who could possibly upset a position in the side filled already or possible big head. But someone who can complement the team and fill a gap and be happy to be a bench warmer if needed is a must. Fingers crossed in the new year, we could push for the title, but i'd bite your arm off for this table now.

Sad to hear about the fan passing away, but as YV says, I can think of worse ways of going than doing it watching Spurs win when I'm 81.
1116 FOOTBALL: Tottenham confirm an 81-year-old fan died after last night's narrow 1-0 victory over West Brom at White Hart Lane.
High Definition http://mukki.org/tv/epl-2012-01-03-...tenham-hotspur-720p-hdtv-x264-fairplay-180819 Yeah, I know they have the home and away names wrong.
Those stats confirm what I've been feeling: that I like seeing Defoe in the lineup because I feel he's so likely to score. Also, I'll confess ignorance in order to try to learn something. I didn't see anything wrong with Spurs trying long passes before they got the lead; I could see how it's worth trying, at least occasionally, against teams parking the bus. What I was critical of were the long clearances after they got the lead. It seemed to me the better idea would have been to pass it upfield, pass it around, pass it back down the field, bring it back, and maybe try a shot then. The long clearances resulted in West Brom getting the ball within a few seconds. If turnovers had been a problem, again, I could see the long clearances, but there weren't really very many, and they didn't, for the most part, put West Brom in any more threatening position than after a clearance. Is it that longish periods of passing are too tiring for players at the end of a game?
