The Ferrari has so far played well with the new F150th Italy 5220 km accusing only small problems such as a problem of loss of oil from the engine in Valencia (due to an error during assembly), a problem with the sensor and a throttle the failure of a pump.

Ferrari has decided to take the track from the beginning a very conservative car to try to cover as many miles and to better understand the operation of the new tires. Ferrari will take the part of the aerodynamic developments in the last test in Barcelona. Expect big news to the front, sides, the hood, discharges, and especially to the diffuser in the rear. Ferrari technicians and engineers expect to benefit about six tenths a lap from these updates.

This link also gives information on other teams. Just a brief summary:
Mercedes GP - Had teething problems which were fixed by Barcelona, now the results on track quite encouraging, they have to limit degradation
Sauber - Equipment provided by Ferrari have cause them problems, especially KERS. They removed KERS from the car in Barcelona.

More evidence of Ferrari's gain of 6/10th's is FA - a Spanish guy and a very reliable source who has information close to Ferrari. He let everyone know that Ferrari passed the crash test at least 48 hours before the Italian media reported. He also said the Alonso was a second quicker then Massa at Fiorano when giving the car it's shakedown. FA said on twitter: "Esperan una ganancia de 6 décimas"

Oh and I just think it's worth mentioning that Mercedes will also make a huge step forward, as Rosberg says on twitter: "Now in new simulator. Stunning piece of kit. Big progress. Gonna do the whole day. Will help me a lot."

Always interesting to see how accurate teams predictions are. I'm fairly sure Ferrari could make the car six tenths quicker with an update but you never know for sure until you put them on the car and do a few laps.

Its a pretty bold statement to come out with if you don't think its possible.

    2011 information or 2007 information? ;-)

The thing is this is only taking account of Ferrari, the other teams will be improving there car and bringing new parts as well which will close that gap. You need to look at the bigger picture Jose

Given the simplicity of their car in the current spec, I remain confident that they can find six tenths. Unfortunately they wont be the only team coming with big updates.

Luckily for Ferrari, the Red Bull is a more developed car, so hopefully Ferrari's update can be more effective.

Even a crap designer could make the F150 faster.

Just look at the parts on the car - the front wing wasn't designed to work with this car, the diffuser is too simple. The current exhaust solution could be improved. Pat Fry said that most of the visual parts on the car will change when this big update comes

Forgot about that :D they may be able to get 0.6 then :) but as you say others will too which hopefully wont be as much. I would laugh if they got it wrong and it was 6s. What a year it would be<cheers> Like the Red Bull last year (ofc 6s is a bit OTT)

I still maintain that we won't know the real pace of cars till qualifying, and then we'll have to wait another day to find out their true long distance pace.

Mclaren also have a load of new parts, new front wing, RW and diffuser, although I don't think the updates will put them on par with Ferrari yet.

Or they could lose 6 tenths, you can never really be so bold to say this, because it will choke you if you have to eat your own words again: Ferrari and Jose.
As a Merc fan I am holding back as to saying anything, im going to wait until the season actually starts ;)

I seriously doubt they will go backwards. The six tenths will come from the new aerodynamic parts. Ferrari don't usually talk about their upgrades unless they are massive, but Fry and Costa have been talking about this upgrade ever since the launch.
