**** sake, the bloke has almost single handedly got us promotion and to the top of the league and yet some can't wait to have a pop at him. First red card in his career. Only had 3 yellows in 2 seasons despite getting kicked and elbowed every single game by defenders.
Says it all. Because he's consistently **** for all clubs, he keeps his job. If I was consistently **** in my job, I'd be sacked.
Not having a pop, and agree his disclipinary record is fantastic for a striker who gets some **** treatment every game. Yes he did help us MASSIVELY get to where we are, the only point I'm making is if that was Guly, people would be asking to have him shot, and I feel Lambert does have to take a bit of blame for today because it obviously changed the game. Saying all this though, this is assuming he did raise his arms, I haven't seen it, so will happily take it back if proved wrong.
When a ref ****'s up in the Prem they get shoved down the Divisions in a kind of 'Gardening leave' scenario, but still working, which is nice. Because Prem sides deserve to have less arseholes taking charge of their very important games than say unimportant teams like the rest of us.
Perhaps, but I'm sure that referees don't get to the top by being popular. It's pretty inevitable that you're going to upset people occasionally. Incidentally a lot of the "old guard" refs in the Premiership will be retiring in the next couple of years to be replaced by some of the nippers we get, I have a feeling they are going to find it very difficult.
He is the worst referee I have ever seen. He has never had a good game. Today every single 50/50 went to them. Lambert was silly yes, as he stupidly reacted but the referee didn't happen to see the Brighton players rugby tackle on him. Two yellow cards for either player would have been fair and wouldn't have ruined the game.
Are we talking in general, or just today? If it's the latter, then no. I actually thought he had a reasonable game. Only blots were that Bridcutt probably should have been booked for going through the back of Lallana, and El-Abd probably should have been booked for what looked a grap at Lambert's leg (which led to Rickie turning round and slamming his hand in Al-Abd's face)
D'Urso has never liked Saints. As for the sending off of RL, it is not like Rickie to lose his cool. He usually takes a lot of stick from the opposition without complaining. Last season he got only one yellow!! So something strange must have happened today. ... Mr D'Urso, maybe, not doing his job???
He gave Dan Harding a yellow card for an inch perfect challenge on Mackail smith, from then onwards I knew it wasn't going to be our day.
Absolutely dreadful today but then I shouldn't have expected anything else as he is consistently shocking everytime he referees a game. I've lost count of how many terrible referees we have had in the last couple of months
This thread seems quite bitter, no offense. Every team occasionally has decisions not go there way in a match......
At issue is that D'Urso has always been useless. There's a reason that the game thread features comments bemoaning the fact that he'd be in charge, days before the game...sometimes he'll help you, sometimes he'll hurt you, but with great consistently he'll **** someone over.
