So, so far we have signed Townsend on loan for the season which seems like a good move but not exactly exhilarating and Keogh has gone back to Wolves rather dissapointingly i might add.

I have heard very strong rumours to suggest that Brighton are trying to sign Connolly for 500k which i wouldnt be against us doing as long as we brought in Lichaj or similar.

We are apparantly set to announce the signing of Danny Pugh this week for 500k and im hoping he makes a move into LB with townsend in front of him which to me leaves the areas of CB, CM and ST to be filled which still seems a lot.

Sean St. Ledger is set to leave Leicester on the cheap and i for one wouldn't actually mind us making a move on him, he isn't the commanding experienced strong CB we are looking for but would certainly do us a very good job.

And we are also looking at buying Jordan Rhodes as well, a striker who is currently on 19 goals in League 1 for huddersfield and is only 21 years old. Seems unlikely but could very well be a welcome signing to add to an area that we all of a sudden look rather weak in however could cost a bit

Well, anyone heard any other dealings/rumours to go with them?

Haven't heard anything but I'd go for a whole new back four in the shape of South American hatchet men, players along the lines of Roberto Ayala but younger, hungrier, players who take no prisoners but are sneaky enough to get away with it.
We need to toughen up, get back to 'Dirty Leeds', we're still tagged with it anyway after all these years. We're too soft. Let's get back to kicking **** out of the opposition, back to "We are Leeds, and we don't give a ****."
Arrogance and pride, it's the way forward.

Recent "Twitters" suggest Jason Puncheon is on our radar also Stuart Parnaby's name is being mentioned.

I'm also hearing talk of Billy Sharp, although with a £1.8m release clause it seems unlikely.

    If anyone thinks:
    a) Hudds will sell Rhodes this January
    b) They will sell him to us
    c) We would even consider paying anywhere near the fee he would command

    They are living in dreamland.

LDS, you ight be right, but something has to change. Without Howson & Snoddy, we are seriously lacking creativity. Nunez may be able to do part of a job, but where else will the goals come from? By the sound of things, Townsend will help. Maybe McCormack/Becchio will rediscover their goalscoring touches. But without Somma & Paynter, & Keogh apparently having returned to Wolves, where's the competition?

Back 4: Connolly needs competition. Lees needs a reliable partner. I wonder if Bruce might just be the answer, especially as he appears to be impressing whilst at Huddersfield.

Interesting times. Let's hope Bates spashes the cash & SG's signings work. Difficult game today. But surely the team will show some spirit & commitment. If not, SG will be gone & we can forget the rest of the season

Sean St Ledger is a very mediocre centre back who's now on £20k a week, I doubt they'll find anyone who'll take him off them.

    Same with Beckford.

I think that £1.85m release clause story about Sharp was probably rubbish, they've already rejected bids for much more than that.

Not heard anything about Leeds showing interest in Jordan Rhodes of Huddersfield and Scotland, but would be very happy if this interest is followed up with him signing. This chap is exactly how I'd like to see Leeds go, young players with ability who will develop over the years.
Some of the Scotland U21 players are rather special (as results have shown) and well worth a look at.

Jordan Rhodes - I think not, if he moves it will be to a club with some finances and a little bit of ambition.... Also Billy Sharp same thing... I have tried to be upbeat and positive but I have had enough now... Its obvious we are going nowhere fast and the lack of investment is now really starting to bite... I agree with Essex taht we need to grow a pair and start roughing a few teams up - Lets actually play to our tag of Dirty Leeds and start demonstrating some bottle.

Graham Dorrans at WBA, is a player we could do with. I've heard he may be on his way to Rangers, but if we got in there soon, we could catch this quality player.

Pugh for £500k is the biggest waste of money I have heard, I surely hope not.

    1) Pugh left midfield then why take Townsend on loan
    2) Pugh left back - Is the £500k investment for a LB of Pugh's ability justified if we have White?

What about CM? Also do you think we should only have one left back?

tHE BOY FROM HUDDERSFIELD RHODES you are in dreamland why go to Leeds WHEN HE CAN EARN MORE AT TOWN yes thats how bad it is at the moment Sharpe will go to Hull for £3mwe haven,t got 3p! Now Dorrans would be worth getting on loan along with Andrews. Kilgallon played well yesterday so he is not available so we must look to get rid of the dross before we can move on

Sometimes I feel like banging my head against a wall.... No two LB's would be good, two of every position would be good but with limited funds LB is not a priority. I would prefer seeing the 500K put towards a decent CB. Yes I would also like to see a quality CM but Pugh isn't one of those, I don't want to see a utility player who can fill a position I want to see someone who makes a big difference to the team week in and week out.

If we had spending power and a large squad fine but we don't so £500k on a position that is not the weakest in the team is a waste in my opinion. White I feel is better than Pugh so I would rather see him in the team, what I don't want to see is a £500k signing sitting on the bench when we have players like O'Dea on the pitch.

But a player like Pugh can be incredibly valuable to a team, and he's not just sitting on the bench. He's not the best in any of the positions he plays but having a player who's good in 3 different positions is useful.

Not worth 500K though is he? We need to invest in a CB or CM alot more than a utility player - Honestly dont think Grayson knows what he's doing?

I dont think Pugh is worth 500k but i seem to be the only one who still thinks LB is a problem area, i think white is a liability and needs replacing, he cant defend and is very weak. His runs are very disorganised and he seems to do 360 turns alot with the ball.

I agree with bigfatboab, young, hungry players are the way to go and we could look to scotland for that.

And another thing, seems like Kisnorbo has just gone off injured as well. Apparently looks like he might be out for a while...
