Loads of realistic and daft rumours will occur this coming month. I assume Ainsworth and Goldson will feature heavily. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7400554/ Goldson being watched. So pop any news you hear on this thread. Please note that the football rumours site is not to be trusted! Oh apart from Torres and Tevez signing for a free.
It's a shame, he's a decent enough player and could offer something different when we go 4-5-1, but there is no future for him with us.
If he's of value he would of stayed on our bench. Similarly Goldson hasn't played many games yet every premiere club is after him.
are we short of pie sellers? old torres may be in need of gainful employment soon. he used to be able to kick a ball around for liverpool, but he appears out of practice at present
After a reasonable performance against Cheltenham, where we again squandered chances we go and turn in another awayday stinker at Bradford. Our attempts to play pretty football don't cut the mustard against the likes of the Bantams who are scrapping for their lives; we need to to start doing the same and soon!!!!! Too many of our 'talented' players are misfiring and sadly we've seen it all too often in the past.
I sort of agree, I think they could well make the play offs, although top three will be too hard for them imo.
send collins bradshaw and taylor out on loan if not sold, sell ainsworth germaine, morgan and gornell. replace these 4 probably by loan or exchange. wroe out for 12 weeks, but hazell back soon. we should have 100k at least to buy 1 quality striker, but no troublemakers. we may have a leaner squad until the summer when gt if he is still with us (his decision) can rebuild/cutback depending which league we will be playing next seasons football note it may be necessary for uncle rowland to be upturned and then gently shaken to release a very fat bulging wallet
Good god, that would leave us with next to no players! IMO, we need a net gain of one or two this window, our squad is too thin to be losing any more players.
Yep, two in and none leaving is the ideal. I wonder if Wallace is going to be signed permanently, I cannot see any other reason to have kept him on loan than if to sign him.
yes i have paired the squad back, but we have no room for passengers, non tryers and not good enough yets. it is up to gt to go down the loan route, i assume he has been following a few. only rowland knows what the club can afford as there is certainly no guarantee of promo. our cup runs have been successful thankfully but as no one is capable of shining up front they may as well go, rather than take club funds as wages for doing nothing. it is high time gt cracked the whip or showed the non performers the door. if this is seen as brutal and a wake up call, so be it. let us see if it improves things tomorrow. floriat salopia but no guarantees
shrews are not good enought to go up, and they would come straight back down, we need to prepare now for next season. i am getting a little tired of being a nearly there club. 2 weeks before christmas we were bowling along nicely in cheltenhams wake waiting for southend and crawley to make mistakes and what do town do, cock it up big time just before xmas gt announced he wanted 7 points from our 3 festive games, we got 2 and i am not festive, we will likely get hammered at boro next week and lose even more ground on the top 7. i think the fans deserve an apology from gt and his merrymen. aj is not a happy bunny and is beginning to wonder if our season may be over. where are the reasons to be cheerful everyone. i am thinking of working 1 day a week at the memorial ground to keep the gas up- er there may be a joke there somewhere, but i am not laughing
AJ, this is the squad that have beaten many a higher level side - as you have mentioned several times. So from that they must surely be capable of playing in L1. Part of the problem is that the style of footy that is being attempted doesn't always work against lugger sides. Today's game is frustrating as we had many a shot on goal (I couldn't go as I had to be at my boy's second birthday party!) but failed to beat the defence. This is a training issues that needs to be resolved.
We can't overreact, one or two additions may be needed but I still feel we can get top three - there's a long way yet. Crawley, Southend, Cheltenham and Burton all have to come to us, and there's a guaranteed three points when Brizzle come to town.
