But Hammill or Brady will just supply more chances. Problem is we wasted 13 today, get them and we may end up wasting 25. We need someone who'll stuff it in the back of the net. Every time. If we converted even 1 in 4 we would have won 3:1 today.
Ok maybe Fryatt missed a few chances today (I didnt go) but hes not a bad player, if im not wrong isnt he the highest goal scorer in the Championship for the calander year ? We do need another striker though so when things arent going right for Fryatt we can change it for another goal scorer or visa versa.
Cheers for the update OLM ect, My guess (and it is just that) Mannone - Loan, permanent in summer A young CB/RB on loan Kevin Davis (given OLM cryptic clue ie Pop tarts out of favour player at bottom prem club)- loan, full deal if promoted (wages would be an issue) Hammill - Loan A forward who can play various roles (This Josh King is been mentioned a lot, dont know of him personally) Would be very very happy at these
Did anyone hear barmbys post match interview then? Can't recall who but someone tweeted about him saying they are expecting a bid from Leicester for Chester. Did anybody hear anything else transfer related?
made a veiled reference that a team from the east midlands might be interested in some of our players
King or the midfielder? King I'd be quite happy with. I haven't seen him play since last preseason when he was very raw (hoping his loan spells have polished him a bit) but he was playing up front in a 442/4411 when I saw him and he looked like he could be the kind of forward we need. His overall play was similar to how Rooney plays, a lot of dropping deep to win the ball, then either running at the defence or laying it off and getting forward for the end of the attacks. His aerial play and general size/strength though was more like Shearer with his back to goal which is what I'd be more interested in seeing him do for us. Like I say, he was very raw and I'm not saying he was as good as Rooney/Shearer, but that's the styles he showed on the day. With the others it'll be interesting if we get Hamill and De Vries. They've both played for Dunfermline and I saw a lot of them and said we should sign them. De Vries was a case of Dunfermline getting relegated and he was out of contract. At the time he was a slightly better version of Myhill, so probably around where Myhill got to at his peak. I don't know if he's improved or not since then but he was good enough for Swansea for long enough. Hamill at the time was also switching wings regularly and looked good both sides, which I haven't seen him do since. Him and Stewart swapping around would be pretty good to see.
We shouldn't have lost, but our entire front line lost the ability to kick the roundy thing into the netting thing and Gulasci must have had a fall out with Hobbs, as he decided to try and make him look a complete **** and Hobbs must have fallen out with himself, as he decided to oblige.
It will now be a test for Barmby. He's done nothing but support Gulsci so far, but surely now he must admit he is wrong and that the new goalkeeper will come straight in as the number one.
I'm praying that Gulasci and McShane have a fall out on the coach home and both beat each other to death. Not that I ever go over the top or anything.
