Evening QPR fans Hope you all had a nice Christmas etc. Anyway, I just wanted to know who you view as your main rivals in the battle for the drop? I think it goes without saying Blackburn and Bolton are as they are currently adrift but who else? My opinion is that Sunderland and Fulham will be alright and will probably take 9th and 10th come May
I'd add Wigan and Wolves to my list of clubs that I would like to see generally have bad thngs happen to and lose to us. I do recall that we weren't stellar against a couple mof them at the front half of the season but that was then and this now. If Sunderland and Swansea were to falter and we get satifaction against Fulham, well, that's okay too. But truth to tell I don't too much care as long as there are three of them below us at the end
Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, Wolves, Swansea seem to be the main rivals. I was surprised how poor Swansea were in attack and their pretty football doesn't have any end product. Wolves and Wigan have been here before so that's on their side. Bolton are a surprise and Blackburn have some decent players. I'd write no-one off yet. The signings in January will be crucial but there's always a team that drops like a brick in the last ten games, here's hoping it isn't us...
I wouldn't go so far as to flatter Norwich City with their omission from such an esteemed group at this stage of the season. Remember Blackpool were nowhere near trouble this time last year.
As I mentioned, there's usually a team that drops like a brick, it was Brum last season and if Norwich don't strengthen their 'spirit' may not be enough to keep them afloat...
Anyone from 9th downwards can be relegated as the points difference is virtually negligible considering we are only half way through the season. It would be nice to go to Man U and win whilst then denying them the Premiership crown.
Going into the New Year 12 months ago, Blackpool were in 8th place with 25 points. Brum were 17th with 19pts.
District, if it wasn't you I would assume this was a wind up. Still a bit cheeky. Main rivals for relegation - Chelsea. Inspirational allegedly racist captain banned for the rest of the season, when we can drop the allegedly, logical replacement in Alex dumped, buying a CB from a team leaking goals, ancient main scorer off to the African Cup of Nations along with a couple of others, Torres £50m of crap, new inspirational leader ancient Fat Frank, and above all a manager who is in visible meltdown. Did you know you were bottom of the London League (capital Prem teams games against each other)? Not really top 4 form is it? Sorry mate just didn't appreciate this thread from a Chelsea fan, I know you are a good bloke and a welcome poster here.
9th downwards but it won't effect us really as we will be 8 points clear come the Manchester City game and even then we still snatch a draw as Manchester United have already won the title. Wigan, Wolves and Bolton will fall sad to say and I doubt if there will be a last day scenario... good buggers up the TV
The article was maybe poorly phrased, I didn't mean it to come across like that. I know we're bottom of the London league, I don't think we have won a game yet but beating City more than atones for that and I am sure we will improve. Personally, as long as we don't come last out of the mini league between us, Spurs and Arsenal. And preferably top 4 mini league I am not that fussed as it will mean we'll have done well. I agree with above posters that Norwich may not be safe yet.
Don't forget fabulously rich Russian owner losing court case and fortune, forced to sell the club to Peter Ridsdale who sets about ruthlessly asset-stripping. He sells the entire first team to PSG and forces the reserves to share their old Harlington training ground with down-at-heel neighbours QPR
Mmm... hadn't really considered relegation as an option. We might be a bit thin but heard tell reinforcements are on way... Hang on. Is that them out there on the horizon - or just a few has beens jumping the gun? Tbh, have to agree with SB73 above. We haven't really started yet and haven't won many points - but of those we have, Chelsea were one of the easiest. We might not have looked like scoring but the rich kids didn't either. They're gonna need to up their game -never know what waiting round the corner in this league!
Actually i'm glad your on as I wanted to ask you when do the clocks go forward next year? You see for as long as I can remember I always put my watch forward 1 hour when Chelsea get knocked out of the Champions league. I have found this system both more reliable than standard methods and easier than having to search for a diary. If you could post the date for the time changing to BST (BLUES SEASON TERMINATES) I and i'm sure others who also use this method would be very grateful. Also could you let me know about the following season as I'm not sure BST would work in the Europa league? Many thanks.
I am on stand by flying at 11:00 in the morning to Cancun and then onto a island for 3 days and hotel has internet they say so will watch highlights new years eve which for me lasts 30 hours after that i will be travelling around for a couple of weeks so no news... Yikes I have faith we will be six points better off before i get back
Qpr should stay up but a club cannot survive long term in the Prem on 14k crowds and the odd full house when Chelsea come to town
