Do you think the booing will spur him on? It could very well go the other way and demoralise him, although I'm sure he's ready for it.

  4. Anyone who boo's is ****ing stupid.

Booing helps no one, I'll be singing songs about the Toon and Toon players, not wasting my breath booing Carroll.

I think it'll be much better if there's sarcastic cheering and chanting of Dalglish's name, the occasional mention of the number 35, etc etc <laugh>

I won't be there, so I'm not going to boo my tv. But I hope people concentrate on spurring on our current players rather than booing our ex-players. Boo at the start by all means, but hope it's not all the way through!

I won't be booing anyone except Bellamy. I won't be cheering Carroll as he is not a club legend but I would Enrique. The latter was a great servant and a great lad. Both deals were just part and parcel of football.

Bellamy however is a little **** who spoke badly about our club and fans, and helped cost Sir Bob his job while he was here. He deserves dogs abuse for being such a little twat.

Not at the game so no, however at the home game I certainly will be, I imagine it will be worse than Owen's SJP reception. I dont care if he was "forced out", fact of the matter is he didnt have to go and gave up the number 9 and potential legendary status for a few extra quid.

Each to their own but this is just daft for me. He left because a bid was accepted, no more no less. Once a bid is accepted you do not stay where you are not wanted. The bid in question was ridiculous and difficult for any club to turn down. Nobodys fault, its just football. Not sure why we struggle to accept this.

We dont accept it because Ashley physically did not force him out, there was no gun to his head and 1 man wanting him to leave versus an entire fanbase of hundreds of thousands wanting him to stay would be a simple decision for me. If he didnt care enough to offer any resistance then why should he get sympathy?

I will boo the ugly cnut when he returns to SJP.

In my opinion (and we all have one) you're not a proper Geordie if you turn your back on the Number 9 for money. F*ck him!

Howay man it doesn't work like that. its not about holding guns to heads. Its about loyalty being a two way street and that is what our fans don't accept in my opinion. Previously in football the club held all the cards and the players should feel lucky to make a living out of the game at all. The players could probably decide their own destiny better as a result. But the game has moved on and now players are jsut meat to move around the market. It seems a contract in football to our fans means only loyalty from the player. This is bizarre for me because any contract in any walk of life these days, requires a certain amount of loyalty from both parties. Once the club decides it no longer wants you because you're either not good enough, silly money has been offered, etc etc, the loyalty is no longer there on the clubs part. To suggest a player just ignores that and stays because he wants to and the fans want to is a nice thought, but not a realistic one. You simply do not stay where you are not wanted. You'd struggle to name 10 players that have in recent times.

I look at the Modric "saga". He has a binding contract, asks to leave and the club refuse it. In Carroll's case the club wanted him to go and he supposedly wanted to stay. It works both ways, Carroll had a binding contract and the move could only go ahead if he agreed to it. If he wanted to stay he could have. I dont care about the fact we sold him, I care that he sat and fed us bullshit for months about wanting to become the next legendary number 9 and the new Shearer and couldnt last 1 ****ing transfer window. He agreed to the move, simple as that as far as I'm concerned.

Socheux managed to delay the transfer 6 months , that is all. Its true Carroll could have stayed and pissed Ashley off. But is that really a basis for your relationship with the club and its owners? No it isn't and it isn't going to serve you well on anything you come to negotiate with them in the future. Carroll knew he was ****ed. As with Barton, Mike had all the cards and they knew it.

Sochaux? I was on about Modric, who is now saying he has no intention of leaving in January.

Ah, the wife's suggestion of therapy sessions for Christmas makes sense now.

Maiga on the brain man! But Modric is slightly different too. You can see what they were thinking, they are very close to their rivals and selling one of the key jigsaw pieces to a rival just sets them back. That was more about bridging the gap and they were quite right to take that stance. Its not as if they were lying to him, they're bang there.
