Seems as though he aint in the new manager's plans I dont think he has made it onto the pitch yet while MON has been here and Craig Gardner was selected ahead of him at right back where he done a canny job for someone who rarely plays there IMO. If he left I wouldn't be to bothered, looked good when he first joined but has been found out, he has nothing in his locker just runs in a straight line, no tricks or the drop of a shoulder to fool his defender just running in a straight line and his final delivery is poor. Maybe the first of the first team squad to be moved on? As for Ji, if we get Campbell fit and firing would it be worth letting Ji go out onloan for the next 18months? IMO the lad has something about him but he needs games and the experience which at the time being he wont get with us. IMO we should look to loan him out to a championship club in January then a season with a premier league team next season with him coming back in 18months as a top, top player who can add something to the team.
Although I will admit that he isnt the greatest player in our squad Elmo is relatively quick as well as being decent in good in the air. Think MoN can birng the best out of him if he is played correctly. I think he could get a run out towards the end of the season depending on if we are safe or not. Dont think its very fair to him to be let go just because of his sheer crapness under Bruce (who could turn messi into the new jeff whitely).
Hopefully Bruce is trying to get Elmo a South Korean passport and will take him away with him. Elmo is a poor player who will not make is in the Prem. I agree with the OP about Ji. He has taken a massive step up, and a move to a championship side could help him to find his feet
I dont understand what people see in Ji ive seen **** all in the lad to say he can even make it in league one. He looks like a headless chicken whenever ive seen him and is pretty lightweight for a big man. Fair enough he scored against Chelsea but it was on a plate for him. Elmo aint as bad as everyone seems to think. Whilst I dont think he deserves a start he could be an impact sub in the last 15-20 minutes. He is very direct looks to beat his man and whip a cross in only problem is his crossing aint the best. He was a pretty important player for us at times last season so i wouldnt write him off yet. Oh and whilst he is decent in the air the constant goalkicks aiming at him does piss me off a fair bit and he needs to get more goals
We aren't really in a position to chuck anyone away at the moment. They were brought in more for potential. Let them try to grow, but not in our premiership matches. x
Ji and ryan for that matter should go on loan to learn his trade in england (like we do for every young british talent) and elmo needs to be sold
I think both were bought for commercial value, Asian & African markets could generate a lot of dosh. As stated in posts Elmo very good in the air but soft as ****e in tackle & usually poor crossing. Ji looks like he could improve but we are not the team to give him that time. Loan them out by all means but not certain to bring them back. Hoping MON can bring in better players than both of them.
Just give Elmo his air fare home...one way... As for Ji. Seems the PR exercise ain't paying of. He'll return home imo, which is a shame.
sorry i must disagree with you ji has good control of the ball and never looks flustered and he can shield the ball ..he however does not have any pace..elmo however has pace but always looks flustered and is a headless chicken and never looks up before making a cross..he has one tactic he sends a telegraph to the defender telling him im going to push the ball past you and run after it like zombie on crack.......it does not work against most prem defenders..bruce used to use him as an outlet on the right tell him to run with the ball just to waste time
I can't understand how Ji gets a game over Ryan Noble. Surely Noble has far more experience in the English game, even if both lads have very little between them. I'd sooner see Ryan get game time off the bench than Ji. As for elmo, I just don't rate the lad at all. He isn't a full back; not a winger; and not a forward? I really don't know where I'd play him but it wouldn't be in our 1st team for sure. For the 3m we've spent on both Ji and Elmo, we could have paid the wages of a decent player like Bent to stay.
