I guess Pete didn't get a Christmas card from you Hilts. Difficult to predict where we would have gone after Sam's tenure as Chairman. All we can say is we are where we are now after 5 years of Ridsdale whatever his faults. The Malaysians are the biggest bonus this club could have got, and Ridsdale nearly scuppered their involvement. Yes, I agree 100% Hilts, without Borley and Guy, we'd have been out of business before now whatever Ridsdale did or didn't do.
All history now lads.Keep looking forward.
Hilts, I think the reference to sam holding the club to ransom referers to the 23rd hour demand for an aditonal 1/2 million or whatever it was to hand over ownership of the club when he knew there was no option but to pay to stop the club going into admin. As I said above, one way or another they got us to where we are. Would I want them back, no I wouldn't, but time to look forward not back. Since I've been watching the city (mid 70s) and for a long time before that my dad used to tell me, Cardiff have had a number of wide boy owners. Were they any worse or better than Sam / PR. That may now be a thing of the past. Looking around the leagues, there are other owners far, far worse than ours. Who would want the Venkys or Yeung? Whoever is in charge people will moan. Everton, Man U, Liverpool have all been whinging / protesting over their owners.
Sam got you guys to rise 2 divisions & pumped 20 million into the club without any repayment 8 years on now & Ridsdale was the one who made the repayment to Sam not neccessary , both guys should be shot Lol !!
Hilts, get off that fence and say what you mean Sam did hold the club to ransom and could've tipped us into admin. Ridsdale is no angel and did miss-represent the club on a number of occasions. Would I want either back in our club in any capacity? A resounding NO WAY! But he did help to deliver the stadium whether you like it or not. Believe it or not I do not particularly like the riddler but he did help as did the others you have mentioned. Whether or not he continues to work in football is neither here nor there but do you not think it strange he still keeps getting appointments? He helped ruin Leeds but as already stated he was part of the board, don't know enough about his time at Barnsley to comment, Plymouth were up **** creek when he went there as are Preston so he must be doing something right.
since he's gone, theres been very little bad publicity, no controversy, the place is running like clockwork, and i'm glad we've got some people with a shred of common sense running the club. one of footballs bad guys make no mistake
Give it a couple of years & both these guys will be revered by almost ALL City fans.........not saying its' right, but its' a fact of life that its' not always the good guys who suceed in this world......and judging by our current position they both took part in our sucess.
they both made millions out of the club you mean dicky, even i was relieved he went and your right hilts it is borley who was the saviour of cardiff....
