According to the Daily Telegraph, Bates has already sounded out Roberto Di-Matteo as a replacement for Grayson. Di-Matteo is currently a coach at Chelsea and has stated that he will review his position at the end of the season.
As far as I am concerned, you can't get a more inept man manager than Grayson, who also fails to understand most games and what is required, so anyone would be better as manager than him.
Couldn't care less about old rivalries with Man Utd, Chelsea or Liverpool, this is Leeds United 2011, not the old Leeds United and we need the best person we can get to get us back to the EPL, no matter who or what connection they have with other clubs, I also couldn't give a flying feck about any manager having a previous connection with Leeds United or coming from Leeds, IT MEANS NOWT.

Have you got a link to this story bigfatboab ? I've seen the same rumour on various forums but can't find it on the telegraph website (although I have had quite a long lunch down the pub !). Is it hidden away in some other Chelsea story/report ?

    Link.

Why Di Matteo would want to quit Chelsea for Bates I have no idea. He'd be an alright replacement though. Boab, I don't think anyone cares about Chelsea so much to not want Di Matteo, but I do like to see someone who cares for the club and understands it. Leeds is a hard place for anyone to come if they don't understand our sky-high expectations. Weaklings not welcome.

And how can Grayson be such a poor man manager when he's got good performances out of so many players in adverse situations? Beckford, Kandol, Kilkenny, Johnson, Gradel. I've said it before, but all those could have blown up big time under a less competent man manager. How do we know that the squad's current predicament isn't more down to the issues over their wages and contracts and all the dressing room gossip going round about wanting out before the Chairman gives them their next derisory offer?

It seems harsh to pin something on Grayson that might not be his fault at all. We've had four poor games, I get it, but that doesn't mean he's a poor motivator, and we've not scored tons of late goals this season due to having a poor-spirited and badly-motivated squad. Quite the opposite. He's a good man manager. I'd like to know three managers in this division who get more out of a worse bunch of players.

    Thanks for the link Leeds-18.

The FULL quote from the Telegraph - "Anything less than four points could end Grayson’s tenure and the whispers about a potential move to Elland Road for Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo will only intensify"

Thanks Boab. Football-rumours.co.uk can do better than that.

If Grayson gets the push I would prefer to see someone with experience in this division but like was said in another thread, what manager would want to leave and manage us at present :(
