So, New Year's eve sees the town make the trip up to Yorkshire as we take on League Two's perennial underachievers: Bradford. The club's demise saw them fall from the Premiership to the fourth tier of English football in less than a decade, and, despite signing just about every player available who didn't go to Brizzle this summer, they made a very poor start to the season. Guy Branston arrived from Torquay amid a host of trumpets, and joyous Bradforians paraded the valley, declaring his arrival "The Second Coming." However, the new club captain failed to live up to expectations, as did the team (who found themselves in a bit of a pickle), so he left for the rapidly declining Rotherham (albeit only on loan). However, the Bantams have righted all their wrongs from the last decade by winning their last two games, keeping clean sheets along the way. A comfortable victory over a very hot and cold Crewe team isn't really anything to shout about, but when coupled with an excellent 1-0 victory away to high-flying Sarfend, it does begin to look a little more respectable. well done lenny, this will be a difficult result to predict. either the bantams are on their way back or they are having a mid season spasm. i hope shrews raise their game in front of the biggest crowd since the emirates and before the boro game. bantams 0 shrews 1 wroe penalty att 13,665
it is not often the bantams entertain a team of class and ambition, this may increase the gate. either this season or next may see a northern resurgence
Nice write up Lenny.. Could be a tricky game this, but my heart over-rules my head & I'm therefore going for a Salop win. Bradford 1 - Salop 2 Taylor, SCS. 11,999.
town to win four three, Bradshaw 2 morgan, wroe. 19 man handbags because Lionel ainsworth pinches their goalies goolies
Bradford are on a good run as of late, will take a point but after drawing with Cheltenham I'd love to see us get all 3.
Must win game for Shrewsbury to keep pace with the top three. Bradford 1 (Alan Hanson) Shrewsbury 0 (Wroe missed penalty) Attendance 10,422
Must win game as KDS rightly states. Bradford are doing well at the mo and Shrewsbury are our usual iffy selves. Let's hope our strikers blue touch paper is lit today. No Morgan as he is ill. Bradford 2 v 3 Shrews Collins, Bradshaw, Gornell Att 11,980 COYBs!!!
ah well our gd is scattered to the 4 winds, southend have equalised, gas 1-2 down, good news morecambe drew and others. bradford are back , definitely back. i have deep deep forebodings. we needed a great performance to attract the scouts, oh dear. ****cks
swindon 1 down at northampton, can the shrews beat the cobblers, gas 1-3 down, forest green are calling. get gornell and morgan on, we need a bit of experience on the park
turner wanted 7 points from our 3 festive games. our point at cheltenham will be our only point. gornell and morgan still on the bench, is this crap management or have shrews been caught by an unlikely promo club, come on gt do something
I didn't go and couldn't get the Radio Shrop commentary on the BBC (anyone else? it said there was a problem) because the signal in Garthmyl's awful. BUt it sounds like a pretty piss poor performance
