Top Story German international on Sunderland radar 12:30 PM 27 December, 2011 Marcell Jansen is said to be a target for Sunderland Football Club. Martin O’Neill has made a positive impact at the Stadium of Light since succeeding Steve Bruce earlier this month, and he will be given cash to spend in the New Year. According to reports, the Black Cats manager has set his sights on a deal for German international Jansen, who can operate anywhere on the left flank. The 26-year-old is inside the final eighteen months of his contract at Hamburg, and it is believed O’Neill will test the water with an offer of £8million in January. not sure if this is pap or not, i thought we were ok on the left side, don't know if this guys a L/B, WINGER, OR LEFT MID, would have thought striker was the main aim Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is targeting Aston Villa defender James Collins. O'Neill is planning to raid his old club Aston Villa for Collins. The centre-back, 28, only has 18 months left on his contract after failing to agree new terms at Villa Park.
He´s a left mid mate, but started as a LWB, good player. Collins is superb, I reckon him and Wes could be an awesome pairing.
Cheers marra, and you, all the best! Could be summat in it, been popping up in a few places, was he ever linked to Villa when MON was in charge? Time for some detective work! Collins or Dunne we are certs to go for, and Collins is the one we need, we need a dominant CB who cleans out everything in the air, Collins absolutely fits the bill. One year for West Ham, he was 11 out of 10 at the SOL.
ive seen this a few times now maybe there is some truth in it!! will give a bit competition for places on the left, never a bad thing
Sorry Rog, but the left side has been missing for years.......... As for Collins, he's ok, but if MoN fancies raiding Villa, then there's a certain l/b goes by the name of Warnock.
My workmate here in Germany is a big Aston Vanilla fan and when I mentioned the Collins rumour to him he was over the moon saying great, you can have him, he's rubbish. On another topic he say's he isn't bothered if Bent goes. He does want to keep Albrighton who has been connected with us. Finally, he reckons (as we almost all do) that getting MON is a great move by us. That's a Villa fan's views.
Please don't sign Jansen, he has to be the creepiest looking player around. please log in to view this image
Got to be honest lads never heard of him, mind you as a foreign player unless he does something spectacular for his club or country I don't really look. As for the left side being okay where you been for the last 3 seasons mate? our left side is our weakest and has been since that man got shot of Collins to "prove a point", we've had RBs at LB we've had CMs at LB and LWs at LB but lo and behold no LBs at LB. Priority is a striker who can score goals and a LB not a left sided midfielder not yet anyway.
i whould have bent, albrighton, heskey, banahan and warnock from villa... not collins not as good as samba who wants out of blackburn
IMO if we are going to raid Villa then I would only like to see us go for Delph, N'Zogbia and/or Agbonlahor
Agbonlahor for sure Poolie, Zog can get ****ed, we have seen now that there is not enough to justify his place, ie 1 in 3. Delph has potential, lefty as well, i believe.
Delph has gone im afraid to say the injurys have lost his pace and he is scared to tackle he isnt the same player and he is injury prone
We have a left sided star already in Mclean, he needs more time on the pitch though. As for two different midfields because 2 matches in 2 days next week!, how about Rico, Vaughn, Catts, Larrson then against Wigan next tuesday Mclean, Sess, Elmo, Colback ? or sub three players of the 8 mentioned, for the defence O shea, Brown, Turner, Bardsley (if fit).
Still tracking this ROG, but cant find any evidence or real substanciated links, dont know about you?
