Morning all, start off wishing you all a very Merry Christmas So in January, we all know we need to strengthen, what do you think we need? I'd personally say, from what I've seen; CB, CM, LM/LW (Not Pugh) and a ST (Keogh). CB: Replace Kisnorbo, too slow and distribution shocking, good to have in dressing room but not up to it now. CM: We still don't have anyone who runs the game. Clayton did it early on and Howson is a fantastic player, but with Howson crocked, Clayton off form and Brown 34, we could do with a new CM. LM/LW: The team is crying out for pace and creativity. Pugh I dont feel is the answer if we want to go up. ST: Keogh brings alot more to the team than Becchio for me, who has been poor thus far. Doesn't look fit. I like Keogh and think he offers better link up play for a partner (McCormack/Somma in future) So anyone any ideas for these positions? Any rumours linking us to anyone? On a side not has anyone heard anything of McCormack leaving? Rumour has it he's off to Wolves/Blackburn for a few mill? Keep it friendly, Merry Christmas to all
Keith Andrews having watched the lad play he would take us to a different level. Gary Roberts swap for Bruceis a good deal for us MATHEW Bates of Boro we would need to spend some money here but we have someor all left over from the summer sales or has this gone with the rest to Monaco Gone right off Adam Barton having watched him again at MKD ONE THING FOR SURE we will not be getting Smith, Maynard, or anyone who demands high wages but as I have pointed out we have smaller squad than Stevenage and Yeovil Finally we will get Pugh and Keogh but for this we will off load Forsell Becchio Paynter Rachuba Bruce and possibly Parker
As he can't score in a brothel for you lot, would want change from 50p.tbh we already have better, his level may well be league 1.
The first window in AGES where we haven't needed a left-back. But yet again, centre defence and midfield looks weak, and another striker would be welcome if we got rid of Paynter or Forssell. The spine of the team in other words. Good luck with that, Simon and Ken.
Pugh is 100% coming, and Keogh is at least 75%, so to my mind that leaves a CB, a winger and a CM. I know this sounds ambitious but I read that Forest need to get rid of McGugan, might be worth a shot if we can haggle a bit. Also another RB might be useful, as we haven't got any specialist full backs to cover for Connolly.
Or we could stick with the one's who got a bag full of goals against,.YES HULL... I just love the way you let your mouth run off modman, before your brains switched on.
I think I can probably post this again... http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/82678-At-least-we-now-know...?p=1204756#post1204756
Rosco's been great this season, but we could afford to lose him. Snoddy won't go in January so this is a scenario we fortunately won't be experiencing.
The same can be said of any team in this division and their best two players. I'm confident they won't be sold till the summer at least.
I was only being facetious, I don't expect you'll lose them both, though I wouldn't be too surprised if you lost one of them.
It's more likely we'll lose Aidy White who doesn't want to accept the club's initial contract offer. The usual lines about greedy players and agents with inflated ideas will be trotted out by Bates. I'd have said the same of Howson too before he got crocked.
