I predict a Obertan run. Jose concedes a corner. Mandy OG from said corner

That would be great. Last minute 0-0 and that happens! Will be tough for obertan as jose is quality still.

Jose tends to back of players, rather than going straight for the tackle. This is a strength against the Andy Johnson/Stewart Downing/Theo Walcott kind of winger, who tries to put the ball past the fullback, but may be less effective against Obertan, who refuses to put the ball past and run after it. Normally a weakness, this may work to our advantage against the Bindippers.

    Or that's the theory.

A draw is more likely. Aren't they still unbeaten at home?

Liverpool worry me. They have a lot of pace (Kuyt, Bellamy, Suarez) which means we're going to need to defend deep. The problem is, if we defend deep how are we going to build our attacks. I think that a counter-attacking strategy such as we used against Stoke may be the most effective means of disabling them. Through balls for Jonas and Ober to chase.

I reckon if Benny is going to start before Ba goes to the ACON then this will be his chance. But at the same time, I think Best is going to be more useful for the purposes of that strategy.

Yeah but Liverpool tend to underperform against weaker teams especially at home . If teams like Blackburn, Swansea, Norwich and the mackems have managed to get a draw, then I don't see why we can't do the same ...

I too worry about the pace of their attack, mainly because neither willo or colo can cope with it. Actually hoping Andy will start as he will probably be a hell of a lot easier for them to keep quiet. Would be nice if Demba could snatch the good headlines after the match as all the eyes will be on Carroll.

Judging by our current home form...it will be a draw.

    Liverpool 1-1 Sunderland
    Liverpool 1-1 Man Utd
    Liverpool 1-1 Norwich
    Liverpool 0-0 Swansea
    Liverpool 1-1 Man City
    Liverpool 1-1 Blackburn

    Liverpool 1-1 Newcastle

    <ok>

Those of you who said Carroll might score...poor WUM attempts. <laugh>

We'll definitely have to defend deep, and rightly so. Williamson's slow and we got beat off Norwich and WBA in the last two games we played a high line.

Krul is a fantastic keeper. We have the highest amount of shots so far this season in the PL. So far visiting goalkeepers (some 2nd/3rd choice) have had the game of their life. I expect Krul to have a phenomenal game...actually look forward to seeing what he pulls out the bag. <ok>

Makes some brilliant reflex saves. Some you wouldn't expect him to be able to make.
