Nolan is a mouthy overated tw@ that gets paid 50k a week to hoof it up to cole/Carew. I wouldn't swap any of the west ham team for any of ours bar Tomkins.

He was wasteful, poor crossing. I've seen him play 6 games and he hasn't impressed me in any.

Don't think so. Carew, Cole, Tomkins, nolan, Noble, bentley and diop are all players more than capable of playing in the prem. Also they have a very experienced side. It is a testament to saints guile and hardwork that we are above them.

newcastle's team was ridiculous - krul, enrique, simpson, coloccini, nolan, best, barton, guthrie, routledge, alan smith, carroll, ameobi, ryan and steven taylor and probably more that i have forgotten about. so so much quality

Look at Newcastle's team now!Cabaye,Ben Arfa,Santon(will be superb),Coloccini, ameobi,Marveaux, all very good players.
I agree with you that Lambert is better than Carroll.

Carew isn't the player he was,Cole is good(but has so much more potential in him),Tomkins(good player),nolan and noble are prem quality players and bentley isn't the same player he was before and Diop is an average player.

We all have our own opinions on the team performance and sometimes get frustrated when things don't go well. To get an unbiased view I like to look at what the opposition think of us. Below are some comments from a Palace forum.

    http://www.cpfc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=229664

"I'll begin my short sentence report with the fact that Southampton should walk the league. 10x the team that West Ham are.

Incredibly disciplined, strong at the back, every player pressures the opposition player with the ball."

    And

"Got beaten by a far better team. No complaints from me, they were playing some nice football in the first half, and then were playing boring keep ball and just doing a professional job in the later stages."

It's always nice to get compliments, particlarly when just recently we've had a wobble. Personally, I think we did enough to win the game comfortably but have seen us play far better than we did yesterday.

I think our Palace friend has summed it up pretty well. They were not great in possession yesterday but they created chances, they were of course coming down to battle us in the air and loft the ball up to Murray. Which is pretty sensible really, particularly when you have a fleet of big players like Dikgacoi. I admit to nerves when I heard that SDR would be starting on the wing, but once again Nigel proved me wrong.
