I'm sure many of you on here would have already seen (although, slightly surprisingly, I haven't seen it yet mentioned on here), but Adam Lallana has been voted the best player in the Championship via an unofficial twitter poll - conducted by the football league-focused website "theseventytwo".

Last month followers of their twitter account were asked to nominate who they believed to be the best player in the Championship, with the top 25 all subsequently being profiled on "theseventytwo"'s website - with one player revealed each day this month (and thus the winner, Lallana, was revealed yesterday).

The link to the profile on Lallana is here: http://theseventytwo.com/football-l...ayer-in-the-championship-as-voted-for-by-you/

The link to the profiles of all 25 players is here: http://theseventytwo.com/football-l...yers-in-the-championship-as-voted-for-by-you/

It should ne noted that players 1 - 24 are not in any particular order (e.g. player no.24 isn't necessarily the 2nd best player in the Championship). Lambert, unsurprisingly, is included within those 24 players.

I guess most - if not all - of the votes from Saints fans went to Lallana and Lambert, and I don't think Chaplow's qualities are yet recognised enough by the wider football community for non-Saints fans to nominate him.

CMS, Jimmy Kebe and Maynard have all had been well below what they are capable of this year and Chaplow has improved no end he deserves to be on this list.
