Can't watch the video because I'm on my phone but do we actually stand a chance of signing him?

In my opinion we have absolutely no chance. Arsenal were interested in him last summer and Ajax told them to do one.

Be very surprised if we manage to get this guy. His asking price will probably be pretty high too, Ashley will balk at it. That Douglas fella is a more likely option.

  8. This is why we need to offer good money for players, I'm sick of always trying to get players on the cheap or go for bargains.

For once, Lets just get a quality player and pay the ****ing money, we can't afford to fart about in our situation. I'd stick an 8m bid in on the Jan first for Samba.

Also agree with this. Especially since Willo is now back and fit, gives us that little bit extra time.

  12. Which part? The not pissing about and paying money for a quality player? Or paying the 8m for Samba?

I personally think that we've rode our a luck a bit relying on these cheap miracles. Lets for once just pay the cash for a proven PL player. Samba is class and him and Saylor would be brilliant competition for Colo's partner.

Plus Samba is like a leader himself. Him and Colo together could Captain and Vice Captain

  13. Willo is certainly and improvement over Perch in terms of dealing with physical threats, but I rate Perch better on the ground. Plus I don't think Willo is that amazing, we should aim for better.

We need another CB, because relying on two CB's staying fit has ****ed us right up the arse this season.

Would you define finding Tiote and Cabaye for a total of £8 million "pissing about" tash? Our system works, why blow a load of money on one player?

I dont think we'll sign him, but then again I thought we had absolutely no chance with Santon or Ben Arfa.

  17. We signed Cabaye and Tiote in the summer, we had 3 months to get those deals sorted out. We have no time to spend pissing about now, we need a new CB immediately. I don't fancy relying on Williamson and also relying on our only 2 CB's to stay fit for the rest of the season.

Any other position then I'd try and get a bargain, but CB is a very critical area where we have no depth what so ever, and unless we get a new center half in we're going to keep leaking goals and probably losing vital points. If there's anything that's going to convince Demba Ba to leave it's him scoring but us not getting the points because we can't defend.

I'm not saying I know how Demba thinks, but there's a possibility he could starting thinking "I'm doing my job, scoring goals, but my team aren't moving up the table", and then he's gone.

If we do not sort the issue out now, we could continue on this slope downwards. Remember that more points = more £££. Paying the extra cash to get a player in could actually save cash in the long run.

You seem to be implying it took us months to tie up the Tiote/Cabaye deals? They were both done very quickly, so I really dont see your point. We had to scout them, yes, but we'll already have scouted a load of centre backs.

I think I'm with Tash on this one. It seems every other club can go "yeah we like this guy" and then he's signed a couple of days later, yet when we do it it takes ****ing weeks of pissing about and we end up running out of time. We don't have time for ****ing around in January, we need a few players signed and ready within the first couple of weeks.

Edit: Apologies for Tash like swearing, only noticed how bad it was when I read it back <laugh>

Personally I'd much rather see us attract quality players at bargain prices, Demba Ba, Tiote, Cabaye haven't done too badly have they?

If Carr can find someone who he believes to be a quality defender at a low price then why throw triple the money at another player just because its easier.

The more financially sound the club become the more attractive we become to a potential buyer, though I cant see Ashley selling there's always that chance.
