    Half a mile is 800 meters mate. Hardly a massive distance if you think about it that way. I live 400 meters away, which is a quarter of a mile, the signal is 3 bars out of 5, so another 400 meters would be pushing it to it's limit but I think it may still work.

    I was about half a mile away from it, and my Ipod Touch could still read the signal. It was only 1 bar out of 5 for signal strength though

    Rofl well basically, Ipod touch's can pick up modems from certain distances, and mine picked up a local bars modem from around 800 meters (half a mile)
