Williams 17 games played , the heart of defense . Leon Britton 16 games played , defense's " Best Friend " . Neil Taylor 16 games played , playing conference football a year ago & doing the job in the Premier . Dyer 14 games played , played League 1 till he joined us in the first season of the Championship , turning heads & creating space for others with his lightning pace & creative moves . Rangel 13 games played , quality as usual . Allen 12 games played , has come into his own in the greatest club League in the world . Gower 12 games played , " Mr. Versatility " , forced into the regular team through injury to others , another job well done to say the least . Monk , 10 games played , playing because of others being injured , while injured himself . Richards 4 games played , thrown into the deep again because of injury & swam through it once more . The pride I feel from these so called " No Name " players is a source of inspiration I've never felt from players in any sport before . WELL DONE !!

Oddly enough that is how we feel about our 'bunch of nobodies' who have all come up from L1 or lower. Great to see them mixing with the 'best' <ok>

Well said. This is the attitude that every swans fan should have going in to any game in the premiership. Proud of where we've been and what we're doing.

Others are posting threads questioning why we can't beat teams that are worth 10 times ours, as if we have a divine right. Can't please everyone. Comes down to glass half full or empty again doesn't it? To be fair I think the fact we're not really looking for goals away from home has frustrated most fans because we're just not used to that approach.

But although our lot have done well there is no way that some of them are ever going to make the grade at this level and we know who they are. That's just the way of things. The obvious ones who are in or near the first team for me are Monk - good positional sense but just isn't quick enough - and Gower who is just 'Mr Inconsistency'. Capable of brilliance then gives the ball away cheaply a minute later.

But generally the OP is correct and most fans are proud of how far we and our players have come without breaking the bank. Some of our near rivals have tricky fixtures on Boxing Day so we could be in dreamland again for a week. Damn, this League is tight from 9th down, maybe higher.

I, for one, are very proud of our club. The squad may not have been assembled for multi million pounds as some teams, we have a team that plays for each other, and a manager some clubs would love to have. Were a down to earth club where everybody from the board to the fans are all one family, where we want the same goal a stable and fiscal prudent club plying our trade amongst the Premier League Elite.

For clubs like Swansea and Norwich proving that they can compete in this league, with players who have affinity and affection for there clubs then we should all be truly happy.

    Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Yea great article. Very proud of my Team.
It's been slightly dissapointing recently, but that was to be expected.

The only thing that has got on my nerves is Rodgers ignoring the fact that actually we haven't played very well in the last few games.
He skims over it, which in some ways is good, because he needs to keep a positive atmosphere for his players at all times. But would also be nice to hear the plain truth from his sometimes.

We have done very well so far overall. We are deffinitely better than a lot of teams in this league, so it's just a case of keep on improving.

Well done Rodgers and co - Merry Christmas to all Jacks!

Well said Breezy, bunch of nobodies got there. Now all we need are more goals and we`ll all be well chuffed.

Just remember, life can be too short.

    Kim Jong-Ill one day
    Kim Jong-Dead the next

SB ... You're clearly a romantic at heart. But quite frankly, our lot, or most of them are not Prem players, they are players playing in the Prem. And, this is going to be our undoing. For these guys to be effective they have to play at or above their talent / athletic / mental level every minute of every game. And the last month we've all witnessed this slowly coming undone as fatigure and pressure and Prem level players of the opposition have increasingly out thought, out muscled and out worked us especially in midfield. Our forays forward have become anaemic. Newcastle penned us into our box for a large stretch of the first half and into the second and our attempts to break out ran out of ideas. Our match with a rather lame Everton side wasn't even up to our Champioship level of last season.

I wish this wasn't true, but reality is knocking on the door and I'm not sure how much more we're going to get out of our current squad. If Gower is our play maker and assist leader, we're really in some deep ****. This role should be Sinclair's or Dyer's, especially the former, and it's just not happening out wide. And if Mr Magic - Gower - loses his wand then nothing much happens up the middle either. Gower has been subbed at half time in the last two games - not even BR can keep this pretence of its working up much longer.

I wish this wasn't true, I greatly respect what they've all achieved in getting us to the Prem. I admire them for their ability to raise their game time and time again. But now I want to stay here, and it's just not good enough to make that happen.

I'd rather get relegated watching these 8 or so guys play ( be it on TV or computer , don't think I've missed a game all season , it's a real treat ) , than turn the minutes over to 6 or so hired mercenaries whose biggest worry , is there money & still not be assured of anything except high wages next season . All these guys probably cost half as much to sign as Routledge alone . Although I will support Routledge as a Swan player , I remember him jumping in his car at Cardiff & heading it out without so much as a good bye to anyone .

I certainly hope not !! .. I heard it through the grapevine from somewhere though . I swear if Routledge finally got through everyone & got to the keeper , he'd turn around and come back out with the ball till he finally loses it .

Dyer , who cost 300,000 , got the 3rd most shots on goal Yankee on the team with 10 , only Graham & Sinclair have more . Routledge , who cost 3,000,000 has 2 .

All I'll say is we need King Dobbie back in our side! Sort it Rodgers, at least he knows where the back of the net is!..................

You guys would know better than me but it seems to take Dobbie more time than the average player to get from 0 to 60 in the " Formometer " & Buck doesn't want to give him 4 or so games to get going , just my take Phil . I think Dobbie will go out on loan or be sold in the summer .
