They're not young either which was your original point!! Henderson yes, but I rate him. We keep spending a mill here and there on young players and i'm pretty happy with that. We've got some really good youngsters in the academy too. You'll hear about Sterling and Morgan pretty soon.

I never wanted Downing. Always thought he was an average player capable of the odd good thing. No more than 8 mill.

I've not heard Sterling or Morgan but that Shelvy lad seems a decent young prospect and Kelly looks quality in defence, future England player for sure. You've got that other defender as well who's name I've forgot. We've got some fantastic young players coming through aswell, the likes of Vuckic, Abeid, Campbell, Streete and Hooper are all looking promising and the there is Sammy aswell as to whether he will turn out decent or not who knows.

Yeah i've heard of Campbell and I think Hooper. You're right with Kelly really composed. Robinson is also quite good. Shelvey has surprised me, as I didn't rate him previously, but he's gone on loan and come back a different player! We often hear about the England team problems, but actually our youngsters do okay in championships and as we've both said, young players are coming through. Just hope they get a chance, as its pretty much is you dont play for United/Arsenal or Chelsea you don't get a game!

  5. Ba is miles better than Carroll so I'm guessing Ba would go for no less than 30m. We really can't afford to sell our best players unless it's for stupid money.

I wouldn't accept any amount of money for them, because it will just go to the same place as the Carroll cash did.

Fair point. Where has that gone? Back pocket? What the status with your naming rights? I felt genuinly annoyed when yours changed. I fear our new stadium, if it ever gets built, will go the same way.

Since the rather heated Lucas vs Tiote debate we all had a few months back (some of you will surely remember!) I've been following Tiote quite closely, here are my brief thoughts.

Very very good player, and I can see why so many clubs are reportedly interested in him. However, his consistency seems all over the place. One week I'll watch him play an absolute blinder of a game and the following week he'll be sloppy and all over the place. That for me is his main/only issue, other than that he is a very accomplished DM. Would I rate him as highly as Lucas? No (and all the stats back that up). Although, clearly you guys will think the opposite, and understandably so.

I personally think he'll be a Man Utd player come January, which will be sad as all I'm getting from Ashley is that he's a greedy bastard.

P.S. The last thing I want to do is open the Tiote/Lucas debate again - I was simply using Lucas as an example as they play a very similar role, and I support Liverpool.

Supposedly went on undersoil heating at the training ground and agent fees.....Personally I dont see this as reinvestment and you should'nt need to sell your best players to pay for the general running of a club.

Officially its called the Sports Direct, but I dont know any fan who calls its that and its still mainly called St James by most Tv and paper people.

It would be terrible for football if he went to United!

Good. I hate the naming rights thing. Should be traditional name, or classic/relevant to the area.

Think about it though - he could possibly be their missing link. They have lacked a real midfield general for a while now and he fits the bill perfectly.

I think he's okay, but Tiote would fit. Hope he doesn't go. Amazing they're second considering their midfield is pretty average.

It will always be St James Park to us and the majority of decent people in football. Whats happening with your new stadium I heard a while back that plans were drawn up for a ground share one with Everton, is that still the case? Last season I went to Anfield for our 3-1 defeat and I was surprised with how small it is, it looks much bigger on the TV and I had a restricted view of the pitch from my seat because of the roof so I had to move forwards about 8 rows. So I can see why you's need a new stadium but at the same time Anfield is one of those traditional grounds with character and thats what I like about it. I'd much rather go to some where like Anfield than the Etihad for that reason. I suppose thats what's good about St James Park it's a mix of the modern features and the older character.

Yeah true. I've never been to St James' but it looks the business on tv. Anfield and St James' are proper ground unlike the Emirates or Ethiad. They just sounds terrible!

Yeah Anfield is small, and we need bigger for the revenue stream. Ground share won't happen I don't think, shelved a while back. There is currently murmerings about a 60k one at Stanley Park. Apparently there are a few parties arguing over naming right, an airline too apparently. I can't think off the top of my head which one they were.

But yeah no doubt if will be soon crappy corporate name.

they need a creative mid IMO, which Tiote certainly isnt

also, if they were going to sign a DM, i'd imagine (hope) they would go for De Rossi, who's only got 6 months on his contract
