No I don't think he'd work in our setup and we need someone that can be a match winner in big games which isn't Boyd.
Nope - would prefer we give the wee lad Keatings a chance than buy that clown He can score goals - but dont think he'd fit into Lennons style of play. We could use another striker -just not him PS saw Hartson yesterday sayng Boyd shouldnt join us, and whilst at it mentioned that Rangers tried to sign him 6 months AFTER he left Celtic!!!
IMO, His big problem was that he did not work hard enough for the team, yes he scored goals but i dont think he would fit it to Celtics work ethic. Look at Hooper, who scores similar goals [six yard box especially] but works hard all over the pitch. Of course i could be proved wrong but its a No from me.
As has been said earlier, not the type of striker we need. Would much prefer we gave Rasmussen another chance actually (provided we get him a chauffeur or something this time...)
I can't say I ever saw him playing, He was either on the bench when they played us, or out standing on his own on the field. I don't think we need him, not mobile enough. He wouldn't do the work that Sammy does at defending set pieces for example.
Skysports.com understands Celtic have turned down the chance to sign former Rangers striker Kris Boyd on a free transfer. Boyd is looking for a new club after cancelling his contract at Turkish club Eskisehirspor following a dispute over unpaid wages. Celtic boss Neil Lennon admitted earlier this week he would not let Boyd’s Rangers background sway him from making a move for the player if he wanted to bring him to Celtic Park. However, it is understood Celtic have rejected any move for Boyd after the club were sounded out about taking the all-time SPL top scorer on a free transfer. Lennon is thought to be happy with the strikers at his disposal and is looking at other targets instead of Boyd. Rangers boss Ally McCoist has refused to rule out making a move to bring Boyd back to Rangers and it appears the path is clear for Rangers to sign the Scot.
I know it looks like hindsight after your post Reb but I honestly just didn't see us touching him with a bargepole - of course I could still be proved wrong! Morten Rasmussen, who I believe is back from loan in January, being given another chance, did cross my mind - as OSP mentioned as well!
