......and so, it appears, does somebody else! http://stateofthegame.co.uk/2011/12/23/grant-holt-target-man-extraordinaire/?
Morning Dave, I posted this link on another thread earlier. Seems there's a few Spurs fans who fancy him too ! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/110331-LINE-UP-PREDICTIONS-v-Spurs
The only way Fabio would pick him is if he scored 20 goals this season, after the last few seasons i wouldn`t rule it out Dave ..... Just hope Man City`s owner doesn`t buy him to fit his tyres on his Roller for 100k a week...
Looked gutted when he made way for Simeon mid week, the man just wants to play every minute of every game but never moans when he's subbed or left out of the first eleven for tactical reasons........ Legend !
Written by David Fox? Sure this isn't just 2 players scratching each others backs? I made a comment about England a few weeks ago, honestly I think he should be part of the squad.
It doesn't seem right for some reason mentioning Holt and England in the same breath, but actually, who else is there? He is on form at the moment playing in aguably the toughest league in the world. Where are the other English Strikers of his ilk that have managed 7 goals so far?
i'd say he's similar to bobby zamora (but a more clinical finisher) better than kevin davies better than emile heskey now those names above don't exactly send a shiver down the spine but all three have represented england up front in the past year
Holt in an England shirt giving the French defence a pasting. All of a sudden international tournaments are getting their shine back!
Yes I think England fans might enjoy that.I don't think he will get picked because we are an unfashionable backwater club but I suppose if you compare him to Heskey anything might happen. One part of me doesn't want him to get selected though.England have flattered to deceive for 40 years now and I don't see that changing.
If Capello were to pick a squad based on form right now and with Rooney suspended, the best English strike force is Sturridge and Holt. Personally I think those two would work bloody well together
Would be one for the pundits to ponder if it ever happened but I think we're getting a bit yellow eyed here lads. If goalscoring were all it was about Rickie Lambert would be the first choice. Jermaine Defoe is probably more on Capello's list. His England scoring record is good.
Grant Holt can beat the **** out of Chuck Norris with his hands and legs tied together and a stick of rhubarb up his jacksie - FACT
He does it every morning before he has his breakfast Don't forget Capello capped Jay Bothroyd as well after he had a handful of decent games in the Championship so if he can keep this form up there has to be achance he'd have a look at him. I think the Olympics would be a better platform for him, love to see him and Rickie Lambert up front representing Great Britain - that would be an awesome story completely in the spirit of the games
