Great news. if he was in the reserves 10 days / 2 weeks ago, combined with intensive training then he should be ready.

We need him as Bolton will play Davies and bombard us with balls into the box like Norwich did.

I like Williamson, when he first came to us he looked confident on the ball, very much like Woodgate did when he first arrived.

Hopefully he'll be back. We won't be able to play such a high defensive line though because he's so slow. He'll steady the defence though and that's been our main problem of late.

Not a particular fan of Williamson but he's much better than Perch, so it should make the defence more steady.

With him in the side (including Enrique) we had a very average defence last year and ended up pretty much bang on in the middle of the table for goals conceded, so we will struggle to get anywhere near previous winning ways, but anything is better than the current situation, because we're leaking goals like ****ing mad. I'm sure that, bar Swansea (who never attacked) we've conceded 3.5 goals per game on average since Saylor went out.

The key thing is Williamson's a big lad and can head the ball away. He's not so good on his pace though, so we might have to play with a slightly deeper defensive line.

Im glad that he will replace Perch. But a 75% fit Williamson isnt exactly solid in itself. Dont get too excited.

Its the Perch out thats a welcome relief.

Tactically it's a boost as well. With Perch and Colo, we didnt have a player who could regularly win headers so played a high line, relying on their pace. WBA took complete advantage of that as Long and Odemwingie are much faster than our CBs. 2 Small CBs does not work at all, even against slow strikers, as Norwich proved.

  15. We're gonna get beaten in the air anyway. Playing an extra big man in the team has done **** all to help us. Davies, Knight and Cahill are all miles better in the air than Colo and Willo.

However, It's better than having Perch to defend against corners, and Willo has decent strength.

Davies never starts for Bolton anymore. They start with klasnic up top most games with n'gog starting some. Pretty confident as their defence is gash. (as is ours with Santon out again!) high scoring game

  19. Come to think of it, Is willo better on the ground that Perch? Perch has good pace, decent reactions and can put in a good tackle. He lacks strength and aerial ability though, which is why we need Willo.

If Colo Is ever injured, would it be best to play Perch? Perch isn't anywhere near as good, but we want a big, strong presence and also a canny quick player that can put in a cheeky little challenge.

Would you lot rather play Saylor and Willo or Saylor and Perch if Colo was injured?

Saylor and Perch when they were together only let in one goal vs Chelsea, and that was mainly Cabaye's fault. It was only after Saylor went off that we conceded 2 more goals.

Perch knew he was a piece of piss against Drogba when it came to strength, so he used is acrobatic ability and other skills and dealt with Drogba quite well I thought.

  20. Oh ****, Coloccini just needs to last two more games without a booking, and then it's reset for 2012.

I know there's a few of our players on 3/4.
