What date does Ba leave for Senegal and how soon could we expect a striker?

  1. I just want to know, is it bang on 1st of Jan when he leaves for the ACN?

Or do we have some time?

Do you think It will take time for us to get the new striker in?

How long will we have to rely on Best, Shola and Lover for goals?

If our defence was still strong like it was, I'd still be confident of winning games, because we used to be able to claw results through defending, but now we need goals, goals and more goals, as our defence is a complete shambles.

Think we'll get him and Tiote for the QPR game, but then we probably won't have them till FA Cup 5th Round or probably the Wolves home game on 25th February.

I have a feeling the Chuckle Brothers will be telling Pardew that we were doing alright before Ba started scoring so we can make do without him now.

Sounds as if all our funds (about £7m) are now going towards a new centre half

Thought the voice of NUFC would have known, but ...................

United boss Alan Pardew has confirmed that he's hopeful of retaining the services of Demba Ba and Cheick Tiote next month for longer than was previously thought.

The Magpies duo are expected to feature in the African Cup of Nations which commences on January 21st and although countries can demand the release of players a fortnight before that date to join up with training camps and play in warm-up games, Pardew commented that:

"It's so important for us to have the African Nations players as long as possible. We feel that Demba could possibly stay until the 15th and I think we'll be hoping that Cheick does too (that would allow both to face QPR at SJP that day in a Premier League game).
