In a strange way, I hope that the FA refuse this then Liverpool can take it higher and show the FA up a bit.
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez will appeal against his Football Association punishment for racially abusing Patrice Evra, according to his lawyer. Alejandro Balbi, who is also Suarez's agent, said his player was "convinced" the punishment would be reversed. Suarez was handed an eight-game ban and £40,000 fine after he used "insulting words in reference to Manchester United defender Evra's colour". The Liverpool players warmed up for Wednesday night's game at Wigan wearing t-shirts in support of Suarez and also released a statement declaring their backing for the 24-year-old. The Uruguayan Football Association has also offered Suarez and Liverpool whatever backing they need for an appeal, and Suarez has received support from Uruguay captain Diego Lugano.
it has been reported now that liverpool have 14 days to appeal but this time does not start until the day the report is delivered to liverpool as they appeal on the basis of the report and not the published punishment - this report might not be delivered until the middle of january which means it could be the end of january before an appeal is lodged

Please don't speculate. Ian Wright "alleged" that Schmiecal called him a black b*rsted. This was then not proven, but personally I thought it stunk.
Reading something on the team support for Suarez issue, and it stated the report was delivered 90 minutes prior to kick off last night - Agin, thanks for that FA, talk about timing you pr!cks!
It could well do but that's not the point. It shows how both the club and Suarez believe he's truly innocent and that the ban is a joke. If they fail atleast we tried.
It gives us a chance to prove we're not a one-man team, if nothing else. There will inevitably be a drawn-out appeal process. The report wont be compiled to the middle of January apparently. So basically, his appeal wont be till the start of Feb. Long way to go.
