Not starting a James Perch witch hunt or jumping on any band-wagon, but just watched the highlights again of the game last night, and James Perch is to blame in a big way for West Brom's second and third goal. I'v seen a few people praising him of late, but he is still making crucial mistakes that are costing us points!

His marking is woeful and always gives his man an abundance of space. As someone has pointed out we leak alot more goals when he is in the team. I'd rather see youth given a chance.

If Perch wasn't in the team last night we would have probably got a draw, if not a win!!

We need defenders thats a given, but I feel Perch should be dropped immediatley, although I think Pardew will be too stubborn to do so! I'd rather play leon best CB and thats say something.

Colo shouldn't have been playing due to injury, wore his heart on his sleeve by playing.

He mitigates anything he does well, by making stupid mistakes which cost us goals i.e never marking anyone, how many headed goals have we conceded with him in the team!

I however have evidence to prove he was at fault, he plays one good game and now hes a good player, he is still dire! No bandwagon, just the truth.

    give yerself a shake,
Krul could of done much better on both crosses for 2nd and 3rd goal
stood flat footed when the crosses were lofted over

the 3rd goal was right in front of me and when that cross came in I said to the guy next to me, keepers ball all day
yet he came for it and hesitated and went back to his goal line when he had the time and space to do something about it

This. I murmured keepers both times as the ball was in the air. Perch was at fault too but Krul messed up more

Tiote and Coloccini were at fault for the first, Tiote lost the ball stupidly and Coloccini got caught out by a pass. Ba, Krul and Perch were at fault for the second, Ba gave away a daft free kick with a stupid tackle, Krul should have came out for the ball and Perch refused to mark his man who scored. Coloccini, Perch, Simpson, Raylor and Krul were at fault for the third, Raylor left a massive gap on our left which Long exposed, Coloccini made a mess of trying to stop long, Krul should have came to get the ball across and then Simpson and Perch didn't mark the two West Brom players properly. So basically it was a team effort at conceding he 3 goals rather than a individual making a mistake.

    What a stupid thread.

Perch has played really well for the second game in a row and saved on us a few occasions. Yes he needs to work on his marking during set plays, but he wasnt solely to blame for the goals at all. Both wingers were shocking, the keeper could have done more about the goals, Colo had, pretty much, his worst game this season and Raylor left the whole flank exposed when he came on. To blame it all on Perch is just pathetic.

I bet youre the type of arsehole so called 'fan' that booed Obertan off the pitch? Or did you not even go to the game?

Perch is name is mentioned too much though he was involved with the last 2 goals, if he had simply marked his man they wouldnt have scored!!

Its no coincidence that we have conceded an average of 3 a game while he has been in the team! Where it was 1 when he wasn't.. Perch is simply not good enough!

How in any way is it a stupid thread, I simply stated Perch is not good enough, if he had marked his man for the 2nd and 3rd goal we would have conceded 2 less goals..

I didnt boo Obertan, however I don't think fans are arseholes if they boo him, they pay for a ticket they can do as they please, we are not all robots who all have to act in the same way!

Colo lost the ball for the first goal
Colo didn't clear the ball from the cross at the back post for the second
and Colo failed to stop the cross coming in for the third

so by your logic .......Colo is to blame, no ?

Coloccini & Krul's were also named in 2.

It's pretty ****ing obvious Perch is a world-beater, but to lay the blame of every bad thing, every goal against, every injury, every death and crisis in the world at his feet is just silly. Overall Perch is decent at making tackles and holding his line, but he's crap at marking. If he can sort the marking out, he'd actually be half-average

James Perch isn't strong or big enough to play at the centre of defence in this league, he can tackle though.

He can't mark and was nowhere to be seen when West Brom attacked. Williamson for Bolton or I'll start getting pissed off with Pardews failure to see he was wrong about him . He also needs to accept he's worng about Ben Arfa not starting the last 3 games.

Yes I havent said he wasn't to blame. I'm sorry next time I'll name every players touch leading up to each goal, so I dont miss a player out...........

I was saying if Perch had marked his man we wouldn't have conceded. Perch has cost us points this season, do you agree yes or no?

Perch only looks good when he passes to Colo, if he's not doing that he hoofs it and gives it and loses posession he also can't mark or defend crosses AT ALL.

We have Williamson and he is far superior so just play him and if he gets tired bring the uselss **** on for the last 30 mins at the most.
