It’s awesome looking back at the posts on this thread. The amount doubting his ability (not sure if many, if any, have come on here to accept their humble pie!)

I’ve loved some SAFC players in my life, but this man is by far the most deserving of my “favourited ever” and I would doubt if anyone takes that mantle from him between now and my death bed.

I love that he has seen it all, all the same things the supporters have, a club that was dying a slow death to the absolute football bliss we have now. Club legend.

Agree with your general point but I do maintain that he was one of the very few who acquitted himself well in that game. Ballard did ok up to a point but it went tits up for him towards the end. I think the only other player to come out with any credit was Ba.
Ba is a funny case. Bags of ability but the mental side of the game was the downfall.

Players are human though and who knows how much being in a foreign country / culture affected him. Away from friends and family.

(Edit - apologies I’ve gone off track with this. I was reading through the posts from a year back)

Think he had a sensible loan to a lower division French side and didn't really get a game, doesn't look great for him playing at top levels.

Could have done with learning a bit from Luke about making the most of what you have, not to say that Luke doesn't have ability but his attitude is immense despite it being a rocky road for him mentally at times.
