Well that was a bit ****e

Reminded me of some of our games, loads of possession, lots of sideways passing

Hoping for a set piece goal

The worst thing about not winning is not being able to mock this. A week in America and he thinks he’s Tony Montana.

I had to stay up an extra hour to witness that ****e!
Lol yeah same.

Almost didn't bother so that I could get a decent early night

Two hours later I wished I had.

One of my mates on our LCFC old man WhatsApp commented that he wished they could play every night ... coz he nodded off after 10 minutes <laugh>

Said it last night, Hazza ain't gonna score the same kind of goals as a Messi, Mbappe, Haaland, Vini and Co... possibly more like Ronaldo....

... now that he can't run much anymore <whistle>

... and we are pinning all our hopes on Hazza!

So.... need to play Saka and Noddy as orthodox wingers and get them to go outside their full backs and put crosses in with their natural foot for Hazza to come onto... otherwise start Rashford instead...

Tuchie got it wrong last night partly because Madueke and Spence were always coming inside when attacking, to get it on to their natural foot ... that, combined with Gordon just being absolute pants, meant we were just constantly running into the well organised defensive block or generally congested space ...

Ghana are not very good - but they probably should have beaten us as we were very lucky not to have conceded what looked a clear penalty ...

So take that lucky break and use it for a rethink...

Like in the Premier league when it comes to the top teams...England will fare better against teams that have come to play(unlike Arsenal) with aspirations to win it, more space init.

Can't play against park the bus...not silky enough in the middle to break the lines. We need to play through the middle and find that slide rule pass, not sure we got that player though...they all a bit Carling black label here son on mi head type football because we have built the England team in the image of a typical English team.and trying to use that as a strength.

Just lacking the silky skills top foreign players bring to league

It's a shame France give me vibes of a prime PSG and will take some beating imo

Last night showed why it was a mistake leaving the likes of Foden and Palmer at home. We are fine when teams press us like Croatia did because we have the speed to get in behind teams. When the opposition sit with every man behind the ball in a low block we need individual quality and we have lack of that in the squad which was selected.

I think they should have gone (one of at least) - but Foden has had plenty of opportunities to show that he can do it at top International level, and hasn't.

... plus the real reality check is that, even if they had gone, there are many better players than them in the top teams ...

As Spurly said, we are not going to 'outplay' any of the Big Guns in terms of 'silky skills' or one touch passing ... you watch players like Olise, Wirtz, Messi, Valverde, Vitinha, Musiala, Joao Neves, Cherki etc in action ... and you just have to accept there is a gulf in technical ability ...

... but if we play to our actual strengths we still have a punchers chance ... as do Netherlands ... and a couple of others...

You’d think England would have got battered last night judging by the comments here

Spain have drawn against Cape Verde, Portugal drew against DR Congo. The group stage is just about qualifying. England should still win the group.

The knockouts is where it all properly starts.

No doubt we will qualify

However I saw enough yesterday to suggest that if we come up against a well drilled top team who possess a better attack than Ghana then it's over.

England have done nothing to suggest otherwise.

Portugal are **** too imo... Everyone beating Uzbekistan

... reads well... until you look at what Spain and Portugal did when they actually played their first choice XIs...

Mostly agreed - but Portugal do have some real ballers in their midfield ...
