There's only 2 ways we can keep hold of Demba Ba.

I couldnt have asked of anything more from Ba this season. He has been immense.

Will he win European footballer of the year at somepoint in his career. Highly doubtful. Will he be nominated? Doubtful.

Im talking about great players here. Whats so hard to understand about that? Take your black and white glasses off for a second....

 

Andy Carroll had 11 this time last year. As did Kevin Nolan.

Get some perspective please.

 

Berbatov is a good finisher too, just not being given the game time this season due to Hernandez and Rooney. The stats show that Ba's been more clinical than those top strikers this season so far. They'll all have missed easy chances too, as did Shearer, no one scores every good chance they get.

 

I can't decide who has the biggest ego, Bano or Mrtiote.

Shearer rarely missed a clear cut opportunity like the ones I mentioned. Very rarely. He also played to the level he did for what? 15 years? Demba has had a cracking 2011. He also had a good season at Hoffenheim.

Come back to me in a year or two and throw more stats at me if you want.

He deserves to be nominated for Premier League player of the year. The fact that he is the third top goalscorer in this calendar year behind two of the best out and out strikers in the world is one thing, but the fact that he has a better conversion rate shows just how good the lad is, and yes in my opinion he is one of the best strikers in the Premier League at scoring goals and that is what counts. You can't argue with those sort of statistics that were earlier posted.

 

Demba Ba's minutes per goal this season is 91, that is incredible! Robin Van Persie's is every 90.25 minutes.

 

Considering Ba played for a relegated team and still banged in the goals is an incredible achievement. It shows he is an out and out thoroughbred goal scorer. He doesn't need to be surrounded by world class players to rifle the goals in.

 

Don't worry Bano's been at his mum's Xmas sherry again.

 

Ha. So lets get something straight everybody. A good season or a good year now makes you a 'great' player does it?

Ok then let me just mention a few names off the top of my head....

Roque Santa Cruz. Benni McCarthy. Yakubu. Even last season: Odemwingie. Carroll. Nolan. Carroll and Nolan had similar scoring records to Ba at this point last season.

Why has everyone jumped all over this? Get some f*cking perspective. This time last year, how many of you had even heard of Demba Ba? He has had a great year, he is having a great season. Its yet to be judged whether he can turn into a great player.

I suggest you dont get too attached to him, like we did Andy Carroll.

 

You seriously need to realise that there is more than one league in the world. His record in France was brilliant, albeit in lower divisions (you have to start somewhere), then his goal scoring record for a promoted team in Germany's top division was brilliant, then his goal scoring record for a team that got relegated in the Premier League was amazing and finally his goal scoring record for a mid table premier league side who gives him little supply is exceptional!

If you have a look at his goal scoring record at teams he's been at past teams is just amazing. He is truly a great striker to have.

 

the french lower leagues are poor to say the least. Come off it.

He got 14 goals in Hoffenheim promotion season. Not bad. In comparison Martins got 13 goals for us in his first season. Perspective.

He was injured a lot before a move to West Ham and then we come into this year of 2011.

Like I keep saying. His 2011 year in England has been immense. Ive sent my votes of to Sky Sports to nominate him for player of 2011 (even tho RVP will win it)

All of these stats people keep telling me are not unknown to myself. Pointless to keep telling me.

Facts are you cant judge whether a player is truly great given his career so far. Please, take your black and white goggles off for 5 mins.
