Been out cutting the grass this morning, I swear the older I get the heavier my petrol mower gets.
So, I'm thinking of going light and cordless and I've seen a Ryobi 18v package with mower and strimmer. Convenient and light bit is it any good?
Anyone had experience with Ryobi tools in general or the 18v mower or strimmer in particular? Or any other recommendations, apart from hiring a gardener...

Is your petrol mower self-propelled? :emoticon-0138-think

I’ve got Ryobi hedge trimmers (corded and cordless) Both very good and reliable.
Mum got a light rechargeable mower (not sure on make) and I was cynical, but actually it works really well.

Got a Ryobi with strimmer a couple of weeks ago. Wife has to do grass cutting because of my COPD. She is impressed with it. Cuts the grass a lot quicker than she did our petrol lawn mower or corded elelecric one. The only thing is though the 4ah battery. Depends on size of your garden and length of grass. Bought a 5ah battery and that does back garden and front on a single charge. 4ah was touch and go on a single charge.Impressed with it. Though there will be others just as good no doubt.
Contrary to what Al Rawdah wrote there is no weight at all to them.

I use Ryobi power tools and have a Ryobi mower and a compressor.

They're all excellent cordless tools.

You might find the mower a bit lightweight ( both in terms of weight and power) compared to petrol/electric but it'll do the job - it's something you'll get used to.

I would suggest having more than one battery pack and to always keep them charged as it's bleeding irritating to run out of power when you've still got that awkward spot behind the raspberry bushes still to mow.

My push mower works through hard work and sweat, you should see the lather my Mrs gets into on a hot day cutting the grass!!!

It's a bit easier for her when she kneels on her cushion and cuts round all the edges with her scissors though...She's a Trojan that lass :emoticon-0148-yes:
