Hes a great player and fits the bill perfectly

I can see either Longstaff moving on or sadly Tanaka as we will make a decent profit on him

Gruev would be my choice to move on, but Farke likes him and hes just had a nasty injury

Not seen that much of him but I think Charles started as a CB and then moved into midfield, primarily as a DM but he can play CM too. Might be seen as a flexible option/gruev replacement.

With 5 at the back we definitely need more guys in the squad who can help us shut up shop when we need to. They seem to be talking big money for a championship player with a year left on his contract, but hey all paper talk until something happens!

They do have the option to extend for a year

Think Harry Wilson would be a shrewd signing a Proven Prem player who would cost us nout apart from a wage.
I don't think the top teams will be chasing him so we have to be up there if interested. also think we have pushed ourselves up the ladder a bit in the Prem pecking order.
We deffo up there with the likes of Everton,Fulham,Palace,Forest at competing and winning signatures.

I think players and agents use the 'signing on' bonus card.. ie you're not paying a transfer fee so give me some of the saving in signing on fee and higher wages. Still a good deal for the buying club but not 'free'. It's why players run contracts down in the first place. Works if you're in demand, not so clever if you do an ACL on the last match of the season. <laugh>

Maybe but we would still save quite a chunk. what's he worth in todays market £15-£25M?
We know he was interested as it was all done and dusted till the Fulham Manager pulled the plug last minute.
We have that Welsh pull at the club which plays a part but won't sway him in a major way i guess.
Depends what the lad wants now does he wait for a bigger club if they come in and sit on the bench alot or does he go to a club like us and play a major part of a season and regular football.
He will have suiters of course. word is he's waiting to see who the next manager is and who's interested in him which you can't blame him.
We have to be in with a shout if the club still want him.

Don’t disagree mate and we would save a chunk.

Would be good business. He’s a bit streaky but it’s a profile of player we don’t have with a decent goal return available cheap.

Brandt at his best is brilliant, but he's a bit inconsistent, he's 30, and Dortmund obviously don't think he justifies the wages anymore. Bit of a gamble that he'd click in with the pace of the PL at his age. But then there's that no fee, squad cost ratio argument to it.

Regardless it seems a longshot

I agree as there is Champions League teams after him
 
I mean if we get Wilson & Brandt then most of the funds can go on a GK & ST which is good news. Should also have some left for a Gruev/Longstaff replacement (Assuming at least one will go) & wing back.

Why would he be flying from Cardiff, given that he plays in London, and his family are from Wrexham in North Wales

I only ask because no private flights booked out of Cardiff airport to Leeds for tomorrow, there was however one that left today at 9:47am via netjets.

Also there is a private flight from London Elstree aerodrome due to arrive at Leeds/Bradford airport tomorrow at approx. 12:40
