Field is younger than I thought (28) actually, I'd got in mind that he was a more experienced pro closer to McLean in age. Given everything that's been said about him in terms of leadership, hopefully he can be a big addition in that sense over the next few years.

Pinkun now picking up a rumour that we're interested in Hull LB Ryan Giles:

"The 26-year-old full-back made 37 appearances in all competitions last season, contributing eight assists as the Tigers secured Premier League promotion via the play-offs with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough at Wembley. Giles remains under contract at the MKM Stadium until 2027, with an additional year’s option, though he is reportedly attracting interest from several Championship clubs. With 196 Championship appearances to his name, he was widely expected to be part of Hull City's Premier League plans next term. However, BBC Sport suggest the club may face a potential six-point deduction at the start of their top-flight campaign due to alleged Profit and Sustainability Rule breaches, with an overspend of around £6m. As a result, they may need to raise funds through player sales before the end of June, putting Giles among the likely departures."

TransferMarkt value him at €12m, but he's in the last year of his contract and Hull needs to sell.

We are being linked with Hull LB Ryan Giles. Hull have to sell or face a points reduction for next season, but other teams are also linked.

Can't see that happening tp be honest, think they'll all get to around mid 20s, perhaps low 30s.
Outside of the big 7, the teams are unpredictable and nowhere near as consistent as previous years, add the rigours of european footy to teams like Brighton, Palace, Sunderland may struggle to adapt

But Hull could have a 6 point deduction to start with, were the weakest by far of the three to go up, have got to sell players to prevent a further points deduction and will have very limited funds to buy new players. It could be humiliating for them as they are in the sort of position Sheff Wed were in accept Wednesday had to play the likes of Oxford whereas Hull have got to play Premiership teams.

They would only need to sell in June they can spend again in July.... the madness of football finances, they need to raise 6 million profit before July

To raise £6m in 8 days will lead to some hard bargaining for a couple of their better players which they will have to replace in July along with other new recruits of Premiership standard which will require large sums which they won't have. It is not just football finance madness but also injustice. They will come down on Hull instantly like a ton of bricks as they did with Everton and Florist but 115 charges against Man City - take your time lads and it might get forgotten!!

Interesting from Adam Harvey at the PinkUn in today’s Q&A when asked about departures this window.
“Forson, Reyes and Medic look set for permanent departures. Mahovo is more likely to go out on loan. I would also place the likes of Mundle-Smith and Myles in the loan group. Kvistgaarden could also be one to watch, with a permanent exit not beyond the realms of possibility if a suitable offer arrives.”

I'd be interested in knowing where Crnac fits into PCs plans, he was a forward pushed out wide, much like Sargent & Makama were previously. Missed 2/3rds(?) of the season seriously injured.

If people expect Touré & Makama to continue upfront, who knows whether they'll maintain good form, where does he stand? Never convinvced me up top or out wide. Assuming he fully recovers I don't see where he gets a look in, might be one we could consider moving on too?

I think he was fit again at the end of last season and that PC wants to work with him during pre-season to see what he can contribute. IMO he might well be a much better player in PC's system, much like Makama and Touré became under PC's setup.

I might be wrong as usual but to me PC puts great strength in a close knit squad and I cannot see him sanctioning even a limited 'revolving door' policy. Reyes has been a spare prick at a wedding for a couple of seasons but the rest? Our owner is wealthy but runs the Club as a business and will make sure we recoup what we paid for players. We also have the usual problem, that a lot of supporters overlook, which is that it is a lot easier to say 'move him on' than it is to achieve it. Not only have we got to get our money back on the transfer but also have to find a Club that will pay the player more than he gets here which might be difficult. If my memory is correct we paid £10m for Crnac and after an injury hit season he only played 11 games. Not an attractive proposition in the transfer market I would suggest and this is just one example. I really cannot see much further movement over and above a couple of players in this window.

As we have seen, different systems can suit different players better. I think Crnac has a lot of attributes that PC would like in a forward and more importantly PC has the ability to coach him to improve in areas he may fall short

Pinkun rules out any present interest in Giles:

"Norwich City are in the market for a new left back but a pricey move for Premier League-bound Hull City defender Ryan Giles is not on the cards. The Canaries have been touted with interest in the 26-year-old, with the Tigers needing to potentially sell players to avoid a possible charge and points deduction exceeding profit and sustainability rules. Giles is believed to be one who could depart Humberside, ahead of a June 30 deadline, but the former Luton defender is not an active Norwich transfer target."
