BOY Kemper has signed for QPR, joining on a free transfer after leaving Dutch side NAC Breda.

The 26-year-old left back comes to west London after spending three years with his former club, captaining them in his first season – at the age of 24 – to promotion to the top flight.

Having established himself as a favourite with the Breda fans for his commitment and leadership qualities, Kemper is now ready for a new challenge with the R’s.

“First of all, I’m excited,” he said. “New club, new city, new competition - I'm looking forward to start and see all the guys.”
Smells like promotion

Good to see us getting an assertive (aggressive) left back. A huge bonus that he has been team captain - leadership we desperately need in this team, I hope he can also provide that.
Fits our budget. Fills a vital position for us.
Look forward to seeing him. Welcome BK :emoticon-0148-yes:

Do we have room for Room? What an inspired performance against Ecuador for Curaçao after being pummeled 7-1 by Germany.

Does anyone gave any notion of why one might name their child, 'Boy'?

Is it some Dutch cultural thing or is it pronounced very differently in Dutch than we might pronounce it?
His Sister had already taken Girl so the name options were quite limited.

it is a name in Holland, not overly common but is out there, I guess its like Son or Sonny.

As I live here i can reliably inform you that Boy is a name over here pronounced the same as English. And as MickMack says it's not widely used but I have heard it several times.
When we were having our 2nd child that we knew was a boy my other half suggested the name "Boy' I thought she was widing me up. Needless to say I quashed that idea quickly!

Thx for all the replies. Cross cultural can be so interesting.

With Boy in, I still wouldn't mind a RND contract. RND is fairly old and more likely to accept being on the bench, being a very good backup.

Would love RND back for another season - always felt he added quality to the team and gave everything
He would be on high wages and we would have to buy him. Last season was his first full season without major injury.

Boy Kemper cheaper and on a free...and something to prove.

This one seems sensible to me
