I’m guessing this is a way to make the Fulham move cheaper for them, subject to compensation. Saying that, reports seem to believe it’s genuine and he wants time away. He probably knows two relegations on his CV isn’t great.

As I said on Spanish’s thread, he leaves with my best wishes. What he has achieved and put into this club has been monumental. Given me my best memories as a Town fan. Three promotions in four years is no fluke.

Hopefully a chance to upgrade with either an experienced, capable Premier League manager or someone foreign on the up. If it’s somebody like Gary O’Neil, relegate us now.

After the loyalty Ipswich showed him, if Fulham announce him as their next manager before the season starts surely he’d go down as an utter tosspot, I can’t see him doing Ipswich out of £8m compensation

I’d imagine the rollercoaster of emotions through a relegation and promotions has taken a bit of a toll

I’m expecting Coventry to announce Lampard has left next

I might be naive but I believe him when he says he wants a break. Don’t think he will come back into management quickly (unless Man Utd jib becomes available and they want him)

Time will tell, Royston, but I’m also leaning towards believing him.

I hope it’s not a family emergency or personal news that has caused him to take the decision. It does seem strange for him to be walking away from such a well-paid job. Maybe there’s tension behind the scenes with Ashton. Maybe he genuinely feels he’s taken the club as far as he can and wants a new challenge.

His stock with Town fans will definitely suffer if he takes the Fulham job any time soon.

Edit.Apparently we are due some element of compensation if he takes up another post within a year.

Apparently if he goes to another club over the next 12 months we'd be due £7milliom in compensation

For me, Knutsen is an unknown so will be a gamble, but I really not a big fan of O'Neil... still hoping there's someone better that emerges
He might well be able to bring a couple of Norwegian players with him who were/are not on the radar of anyone else. Has a very impressive win record and stays with clubs a decent amount of time

I’m not sure about the names being suggested. If rumours are true, Knutsen would be a big gamble or a master stroke. I’ll support whoever comes to in, but we do need to make an appointment soon to get transfers underway. Interesting times to come.

How about approaching New Zealand's Just and Wood for our 2 new up front? Currently Notts Forest & Motherwell. And while we are about it, their Manager!

Hope we have experienced scouts at World Cup.

With the transfer window now open, I’m a little surprised the new manager is not yet in place. He will need time to evaluate the squad and then provide potential transfer signings to MA. To have any chance of survival next season, we have to hit the ground running

The rumour mill goes round but agree, its leaving it very late and very little time to bond and train as a complete squad.

Apparently we are looking at Etta Eyong from Levante. His release clause is 40 million euros and would be worth every penny, seen loads of him, still raw at times but on his day is quality. Put it this way, Barça were contemplating signing him this time lady year, that tells you all you need to know, they considered him good enough to replace Lewandowski!!
God I hope this happens but somehow doubt it!!
