This is the correct order.
No one should need an explanation, but I will add that the Diame goal was very meh for lots of us who had decided not to go because we didn’t really want to go up thinking it would probably prolong the tenure of the owners at the time.
Whilst others wanted us to go up thinking it might mean someone would come in and buy us as a PL club.
I detest(ed) the Allams from a City perspective but ... not wanting City to win a game and not wanting us to go up? Really.

On the plus side of winning that game Den was the chance to boo Eknob when he sheepishly raised the trophy, was funny how quickly he got rid of it !

Diame's was an absolute belter of a goal and got the same level of reaction that McBurnies got(from me anyway)...Topped only by a Windass worldie that got us there for the first time ever in our history.

The one thing that links all 3 monumental landmarks for me was that I couldn't give a frogs fat arse who owned the Club at any of them...Owners come and go,Hull City AFC doesn't.

2015/16 was just a weird season. Lots of quality players who seemed to underperform at times, then pulled a rabbit out of the hat with a 3-0 win at Derby in the first-leg of the play-offs, only to nearly **** the bed in the home leg. Wembley for the third time in 2 years, lots of empty seats (in part due to disillusioned fans who had come to hate the owners), and then followed by Bruce walking away because he saw the writing on the wall. It all felt a bit hollow. This season was an unexpected success after a dreadful 2024/25, so the relief when McBurnie tapped home that winner was incredible. It's a long time since I felt that good watching City!

We should never have only been in the play offs in 15/16 Bruce should have had us in the top 2 with the squad he had.

Diame a distant 3rd. Even though probably the best hit.

In the moment the mcburnie goal was top because you knew it was a winner. Windass though because it was a trailblazer.
Imo Windass's was the better hit by a distance. Diame's was a great strike, but technically Windass's was way more difficult. He got it absolutely spot on (albeit aided by their defender who for some bizarre reason decided to vacate his position on the goal line at just the right moment #handofgodMk2 dragging him away!!).

Don't put distance on Diame's, a great strike but also loved that final, we were so comfortably better than an old enemy Sheffield Wednesday and still sing crying on Wembley way to them.

Agreed on the best victim being Wednesday.

But pretty much every other factor Diame goal/final is behind. Empty seats. Allams. Very little jeopardy - we controlled the match with ease (opposite of 2026). Should have won the league with that squad.

Also for windass goal promotion was brand new and mcburnie goal 10 year gap and almost in league one 12 months previous. 2016 we had been there very recently and with Allams in charge didnt feel like we would make a good go of it.

For neutral fans it has to be:
1. Windass
2. Diame
3. McBurnie
based on the quality of the goals.

for City fans it can only be:
1. Windass
2. McBurnie
3. Diame
for what it meant to us.
Agreed.

But with Windass it was a 39th minute goal. Plenty could still happen.

McBurnie, 95th minute winner. Doesn't get much better than that.
