The Lord of FIFA turns my stomach even more than the Orange Manbaby.
The Donald is an out-and-out Plutocrat, and never pretends to be anything else.

Infantino brown-noses Trump in the most demeaning ways, and still pretends to be a Champion of World Football, supposedly standing up for poor Countries and their football fans.
His FIFA Peace Prize took cringeworthiness to depths never before plumbed.
What a creepy, smirking ****.

He was there last night, overseeing swathes of empty seats.

It always used to be the locals filling the empty spaces in WC stadia, but how many average Mexicans have £350 (minimum) knocking about?

It stinks.

Hopefully Brazil and Morocco will kick lumps out of each other, have several players sent off and the rest injured.
Seriously it should be a terrific game, best of the tournament so far. Brazil or Argentina to win the Cup for my money.

Did anyone see the stats for how far different teams have to travel during the World Cup Finals?
I saw them briefly on a TV news program.

England have to go around 8,000 Km altogether (I assume that means if we get all the way to the last game).
Of the 'serious contenders' I believe that is one of the highest figures.
And some are saying it is the travelling as much ass the heat that will drain players of energy.

Spain (and I think it was France) have to travel only a fraction of that distance.

Not sure how the numbers were worked out, as your physical route to the Final presumably depends on where you finish in your group.
It would be interesting to see if any pattern emerges between how early a team goes out, and how far they had to travel between games.

What are you doing about watching the Scotland match, Penguin? Are you setting an alarm? Or will you stay up and watch Brazil first?

I'm delaying my sedative until about 3am, ready for kip at 4am. I can't fall asleep whilst supporting Haiti.

Lovely ball in and a thumping header.

Well done to Qatar.
More controversy from FIFA’s use of VAR.

Looked like the header for the assist for the Swiss goal was offside and also the player who won the penalty was also offside.

Looked pretty clear to everyone, but VAR said neither was offside. Fair enough. So why haven’t they shown a single replay showing the evidence that neither was offside ?

By not showing it, it simply reinforces the view that they were offside.

Well they got the points in the bag.
Very decent chance of making the round of 32 now.
I have heard some number crunchers have said that one win is a virtual guarantee of progress.
One more point and it's nailed on.

I'll always support Australia (except during the Ashes) because they have the Union flag on their own.

Every Country doing the same is good with me <ok>
