Might be the last time they have an expensive side out http://www.thisissussex.co.uk/INCONVENIENTTRUTH/story-14198919-detail/story.html
Thats their problem. They can't attract more fans when they are at the top. The only time they get a reasonable crowd is when the away team bring them, and then they only give you 800. Most football fans around there support Brighton or Palace. both of those places under 20 miles away, and both in the Championship.
also means that when they come out and ask crawley fans in public, to makesure they use clubs own bar to drink and park in football clubs car park to help there cause to keep it's best players....we as away fans from all other clubs need to makesure we don't help it's cause with funds for parking at club, buying programmes, drinking and eating clubs food etc!....every penny helps, but can also help our plight over the season! take note!!! UTG!!!!!
oxon4...... Maybe you are onto something there. how about if all away fans boycotted the matches that would certainly force the issue given their relative numbers Still think the owner's trying to put a guilt trip on the town to get a better atmosphere and satisfy his own ego probably. cant see this as ever being an investment that was ever going to pay for itself
belfast...alright smart alec!...thought that was the response i'd get. perhaps i could of worded it better, as i meant without doubt sure the more fans we take the better for our teams benefit, but don't do them any favours with regards those extra pounds for the accounts of crawley fc in anyother such way if possible!
TBH I think it is hilarious! I have always hated the Premiership for what it stands for and have always voiced my opinion accordingly. Sadly I see Crawley as no different, how can a club live within it's finances on attendances not even touching 5,000? From laughter to sadness because it is this continued mentality that is destroying lower league football and the game we love. So much of the passion in football has disappeared through money, since I first followed the Gills as a young lad. Something today's generations will never be lucky enough to experience.
Sorry to bring this up but you have to wonder that on a boxing day game (traditionally one of the best attended games of the season) if the home team, which is top of the league by 4 points, can only get around 4,200 to the match and 1300 (there won't be many games they get that many) are away fans, what really are there chances of getting 4500 minimum ŵeek in week out?
Not all that sure if this is a necropost but the highlights of the match are up on sky sports now. That challenge by Claude Davis should have been a straight red no matter where it was on the pitch, it was a lunge for the knee!
