At the end of the day players aren't fans of their club (usually) - it's their job and they get paid for it.

I don't expect any real "loyalty" as such so if a person gets a better offer than the one we are giving them I'd not hold it against them to take it.

They won't be footballers past 40 outside rare exceptions and most of them aren't good enough / well known enough to make careers in football / media afterwards so I don't hold any grudges if they are a bit mercenary - provided they don't be a tit about it and give it their all whilst here.

Lol. Exactly the attitude I was talking about.

“You would expect Ross Stewart to show a bit of loyalty after he did nothing in his first season here.”

Oh, sorry for being injured, buddy, ffs <laugh>

If there is any blame for Ross Stewart’s signing, it is with the club, not with the player.

*sign an injured player*

"Omg I can't believe that **** is injured all the time"

Maybe we could also be grateful to him for his big part in our memorable cup run?

Is it only Bree and Stewart we think we will attempt to resign out of the out of contract players? From memory it’s:

Smallbone (sounds like already confirmed he’ll leave)
Taylor
Aribo
Bree
Stewart
McCarthy
Romeu

Think that’s it apart from some youngsters I don’t know about. Think there’s a chance we’ll offer McCarthy a deal as well if he’ll take a big pay cut, would be an easy solution to backup keeper problem

I have not seen Ross Stewart linked to Middlesbrough on line. It will be a shame if he leaves after we stood by him whilst he was injured for so long. He was really good when he came back towards the second half of the season and you could understand why we initially bought him with his form. Most Saints fns had previously written him off before his return which was akin to signing a new player.

I will be sad to see him leave yet, by the same token, I am sure he is replaceable unlike Casper Jander. We need to ensure that we have back up for Lorin.

I really hope they dont offer McCarthy a new deal.

Leo wants to play in the PL. I doubt he goes off to Brazil right now, he can do that right at the end of his career. If no PL club comes in for him this summer, then I expect he'll stay here for the season. His end of season form and lack of sell on value may yet do us a favour.
