Like DTLW said, they will be able to if they sell Stiller. He'll go for around 40-50mill.
Apparently Coventry had made a 20mill offer for Rushworth. Makes our signing of Peretz for 7mill even better.
Even so, it would be rare for them to reinvest half that fee in one player. He would be their record signing.

I can't remember George Long actually playing for our first team. Did he appear in a Carling Cup/FA Cup fixture? Or has he always been on the sidelines?

I'm sure he played in a cup game as you said - if I remember a lot of supporters were worried and thought we'd get thrashed and the usual even more negative opinions/views than me were posted - and I read he was okay apparently. I mean not Peretz or similar but an experienced goalie who looked capable at the standard he was playing in.
he let in the overhead kick from Winks that was really poor keeping, don’t remember him having much to do apart from that.
With Bazunu, Ramsdale, McCarthy and Jones probably all leaving he hopefully is being signed as the third choice training keeper that clubs love to have

Not too sure about that TBH, had a massive flap in ET just after we went 2-1 up and got away with it when it was hacked off the line. Also should have kept their goal out.
George Long is a terrible keeper. Norwich fans will be pissing themselves laughing that someone is taking him off their hands.
Should be nothing more than a cheap 3rd choice. If Peretz get's injured for any length of time, Long is not good enough to be next in line. I know Baz and Ramsdale are still on the books but surely won't be come the start of the season. McCarthys contract is up and I'd assume he's going to retire . So we're still going to need to bring in a GK as a no.2
