Southampton owner Dragan Solak says he will not sack Tonda Eckert, despite the "mistake" the head coach - who has apologised - made when authorising a spying campaign against rival Championship clubs.

"I think he deserves a second chance and I would give it to him," the Serb businessman told BBC Sport in an exclusive interview.

"My full support would be behind him actually, because I think he's a super-talented manager."

DONT KNOW what is going on as typed a paragraph after that in red just noticed 0013 hrs not appeared!

try again.
Rules are rules and there can be no excuse unless very mitigating circumstances.IMHO I think the final result was fine... mind you if mIDDSBRO had won then might have felt a bit different!
I think there is still EFL or FA investigations still going on??? so it might not quite be over yet. was 4 points a fair or harsh? well I think 6 pts maybe have been more realistic as both mean 2 games affected W & D and 2 wins.
do we need a manager who is a cheat .... seems liikeowwne " knew"? as not sacking him or is just thinking already cost "£xx million " so why cancel contract and have to pay out more?

Should he be sacked/ banned from managing in EFL or prem for x years?

I don’t think the owner has covered himself in glory by keeping the manager in post and virtually defending his actions

I also think the club ought to face a much bigger points deduction for what went on

Leeds did similar or was it more?? Biesla didnt get sacked. Southampton seem to have done less and had one **** off punishment big rap on them knuckles move on.
