Really don’t know why we don’t make an approach to Lewandowski for a year (or two). It's a difficult one - and my objection to Toney is more about his character and career choices than necessarily his performance levels.
Ideally? I'd break the bank to get Harry back.
But that's so far into the realms of fiction that it's probably not even worth the thought.
TBH I cannot come up with anyone off the top of my head - that we could feasibly approach - that would not only improve our forwards goalscoring numbers, but also have sufficient presence to unsettle the opposition.
About £220m down the ****ter. All five of those mentioned have been poor expensive signings for Spurs.
You’d hope Spurs would have a 50% success rate with transfers. As it is, it feels more like 20%

Said the exact same to Power just the other day about our success rate. If we can get it back to 50% we’ll begin moving forward again.

I was going to mention him, but his last few performances in Spain have been pretty underwhelming tbh. Great striker in his day, probably would have jumped at the chance of getting him a year ago, but not sure he would be up to a PL / domestic season.Really don’t know why we don’t make an approach to Lewandowski for a year (or two).
Match his £350k salary at Barca and it “only” sets us back £18m for the season plus bonuses and signing fee. He may choose a retirement deal in Saudi or MLS but it’s worth testing the water on, apparently clubs in Italy and Turkey are looking to offer him a deal, we’re in a financial position to offer better than most. Far better than chucking another £60m at a possible Richarlison or Solanke too.
They don’t help themselves with some of the players they target. I mention them time and time again but Richarlison, Solanke and Gallagher at the prices (and wages in Gallagher’s case) meant we were always onto a loser.I get every signing is a risk but you can’t constantly be getting them wrong without serious consequences.
Spurs escaped disaster on the last day of the season. Need to ensure the club isn’t in that position again no matter what it takes
Oh don’t get me wrong we’re never gonna get the Bayern version of the bloke but I’d still take a season of him than another of dumb and dumber.I was going to mention him, but his last few performances in Spain have been pretty underwhelming tbh. I certainly don't want a goody-twoshoes and a beast with excellent ****housery qualities would be definitely on my list of preferable skills!Toney is a predator and that is an asset in a striker. Nice guy strikers like Lineker are few and far between. Right now Spurs need a bully up front, someone to put fear into defenders.
We might get a 40 year old Kane back but I can't see him leaving Bayern just yet.
Just not sure that Toney is the guy for us. His baggage is fine in Saudi but it will catch up with him again in the PL - and is he that good anyway? A step up on The Cocktail Twosome we have now in terms of goalscoring, but that's hardly raising the bar.You must log in or register to see media

Interesting.

One thing to consider: with Xavi out until the New Year and Madders always a 70 minute player, there's scope for Mikey to play as a 10 this coming season"No clear options".
Part of the problem is that blokes like this routinely forget that Mikey Moore exists and just had a fantastic season for Rangers. Sure, right now he might be behind Savinho in his development, but he is also a whopping 4 years younger. We'll never know how good Mikey could be unless we bite the bullet and give him a chance.
Also another major factor in our left flank collapsing that literally no one seems to talk about is how we saw a year of Udogie picking up injuries every two weeks, didn't sign proper cover for him, and then went and make the same mistake last summer. Spence isn't good enough and as a predominantly right footed, offers no width on that flank.

...as long as you forget we keep getting linked with AMs
We are in an odd spot, winger-wise: one the one hand we have Kudus and Odobert scheduled to come back around October so rushing out and buying some starting wingers is obviously not the ploy as we'd wind up with having selection headaches, but on the other hand we clearly need some wingers to pick up the obvious slack for the early stagesTrue.
I sincerely hope the club isn't ignoring the fact that we won't see Odobert until November, Xavi until February, and Kulusevski possibly ever again.

A Perisic-like signing would be the wisest move: somebody it wouldn't look like De Zerbi lost a bet by having them start straight away, yet also it's understandable for them to sit once Kudus is getting back up to speed. For the sake of chucking a name in there, Harry Wilson makes a reasonable amount of sense
