Its not. Its been talked about for a long time - numerous articles about it over the years and fines handed out.
I mean what the CPS defines has "hate speech" is irrelevant and even more so in this current climate, especially now with regards Henry Nowack. No different from the **** we get from them in droves, smack heads, dirty, skint etc etc. Gay people are absolutely sound and more than welcome at the footy for me.

Agreed. No problem with gay people watching football. Bi's I'm a bit suspicious of - greedy, indecisive or both, you decide. I’ve never seen them or heard about it. It looks to be an illegal slur only in the context of a football chant, and only really talked about since about 2022. With the help of a bit of AI it seems tart is the perfect comparison too, both terms coined around exactly the same time for prostitutes from both genders. It’s about as soft and old fashioned an insult as you can get, and I would honestly say if you ask any non footballing person about it then they would laugh and say the worlds gone mad if you told them they’d get arrested for using it.

Yeah, I saw that backstory when I looked it up, although having been born after that era had absolutely no idea about that either, nor would I assume a lot of fans born after then. Or maybe I’ve just lived under a rock and everyone else knows all about it. Where has the education been about this as Chazz said the club told people not to sing it before the game I assume that was in the stadium? As it’s actually quite worrying I might have just joined in with that unwittingly and could well have found myself slapped with a conviction for a hate crime, a football banning order and all the baggage that comes with that sort of thing for something I had absolutely no idea about.

Maybe as someone who has cringed a lot over the years when hearing it I’ve paid more attention to it, but I am surprised that people haven’t heard about it. It’s had a lot of publicity
Absolutely understand why the gay community would be upset about it and knowing the backstory the chant came from it’s difficult to argue it shouldn’t be banned, just making the point that a lot of people singing it probably don’t even know about any of that, and even 4 years after it’s been banned the news hasn’t go round to everyone yet, speculatively including those few arrested at city as otherwise why else would you in a modern stadium full of cameras where you couldn’t get away with anything?
I mean, a lot of people do stuff in front of known CCTV cameras that boggles my mind.
